An extravagant celebration for Marvel fans filled with multiple first looks, Disney Plus Day released Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, and Secret Invasion’s teasers on November 12.
The first look teasers of the four shows are more or less 30 seconds each, giving fans enough to expand their current theories and yearn for more answers (or to have a look at the full costume!)
The first show to rake in quite a bit of attention is Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight. A clean-shaved Isaac looks promising playing the Egyptian Marvel superhero and has surpassed the dreaded expectations of fans. The teaser sees Marc Spector struggling between real life and dreams. The clip also takes a sharp dark turn as we see Moon Knight badgering what seems like a human, donning his signature white cape.
Next up is Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel. The teenage fangirl, Kamala Khan, struggles with her life as a brown girl in New Jersey, balancing her shape-shifting powers. The teaser shows Kamala’s life as a Pakistani-American, her costume, and even her superpowers. Ms. Marvel hasn’t really been Marvel fans’ favorite character, but they hope the show tries its best to steer away from controversies.
The highly-anticipated She-Hulk was the third show to be teased. Tatiana Maslany takes on the role of the female superhero, Jennifer Walters. The clip is a legit tease, as it introduces Walters, shows only half of her green body, shows Hulk/Bruce Banner’s return and, surprisingly, a homage to the 70s incredible Hulk show.
Secret Invasion is probably the shortest teaser ever with only 5 secs of footage, and all it shows (to raise bars, blood pressure, and excitement) is an older Nick Fury in all his glory. Disney probably thought a bit of an unkempt beard and an intense stare from Samuel L. Jackson is enough. Well, they weren’t wrong.
The actual release dates for the four shows haven’t been released, except Ms. Marvel reportedly releasing in summer 2022.
The clips were exclusively released on Disney+ but haven’t been uploaded on their official social media accounts yet. Eager fans can check out the unofficial videos available on YouTube or Twitter.
Disney Plus Day also announced five new series, slated for 2023 and beyond release. X-Men ‘97, Spider-Man: Freshman Year, Marvel Zombies, and two spin-offs from their previous shows, Echo from Hawkeye and Agatha: House of Harkness from WandaVision.
