Fire Force Chapter 242: Release Date, Delay, Discussion

Chapter 241 reveals that Ogun is going to take on Charon. However, his fists hardly did any damage to Haumea’s Guardian.

1. Chapter 242 Speculation 

We will get to see the Ogun vs. Charon fight. Since Charon is resistant to Ogun’s punches, he will force Ogun to activate his Flamy Ink ability.

The chapter will reveal Ogun’s ancestor, who inspired him to become a Fire Soldier.

2. Chapter 242 Release Date

Chapter 241 of the Fire Force manga, titled “The Woven Lineage”, has been released on Sunday, Nov 08, 2020.

I. Is Fire Force on a Break This Week? 

The Manga Fire Force is not on a break but could be delayed. Since the release of some chapters get delayed sometimes. 

Fire Force manga is published under Weekly Shōnen magazine, a weekly magazine that comes out every Sunday. 

3. Chapter 242 Raw Scans, Leaks 

The raw scans and spoilers for chapter 242 of the Fire force manga been leaked, and the rough translation goes like this:

Arthur sits and waits while everyone else is fighting. Ogun is fighting Charon. He tells about his ancestor, a ship captain who took care of the Great Cataclysm survivors without caring about their nationality and ethic by singing reggae with love and bringing them to Tokyo. He wants to be a Fire Soldier and protect the descendants of these survivors.

Ogun’s punches didn’t have any effect on Charon. With no other way left, Ogun activates his Flamy Ink ability and rushes towards Charon. Charon grabs his arm, throws him down, and then uses his foot above Ogun to create a massive explosion.

4. Recap of Chapter 241

Arrow guesses that Ritsu’s necro pyro is controlling all the infernals. She faces the infernals head-on along with Hinawa, trying to keep them away from the switch at Amaterasu.

Hinawa uses his Accelerate technique while Arrow uses a new technique named “Cluster Arrow” to shoot a giant arrow in the sky, making it explode into many regular arrows. This combined attack takes down a lot of infernals.

Meanwhile, Ritsu summons Giant Infernals. Maki decides to deal with the regular infernals, leaving the giant ones for Lieutenant and Arrow.

Ogun saves Arrow from Charon’s surprise attack. He throws a storm of fists towards Charon and crushes him to the ground.

However, all those attacks hardly had any effect on Charon. He wakes up immediately and warns Ogun that destruction is the collective unconscious result.

Ogun claims that the Fire Force will stop them and protect humanity no matter what.

Charon explains that Haumea has seen the images of mankind’s real intentions connected to Adolla, and has been suffering since childhood. He wants to bring about the cataclysm and free Haumea from this hell.

Ogun says that he respects his opponent’s strength and personal motive. He takes off his coat and prepares to fight Charon, who has already taken off his upper robe.

Fire Force, also known as En’en no Shōbōtai, literally meaning “Blazing Firefighting Corps,” is a Japanese shōnen manga series written and illustrated by Atsushi Ōkubo. 

It is published by Kodansha and has been serialized in the Weekly Shōnen Magazine since September 2015, with the chapters collected into twenty-three tankōbon volumes as of May 2020. 

An anime television series adaptation by David Production aired from July to December 2019 on the Super Animeism block. The second season of the Fire Force anime television series is also animated by David Production. 

Tatsumi Minakawa replaced Yuki Yase to be the director of the series. The series premiered on July 3, 2020.
