The Smoke Bomb Compressor is an important item that is essential to unlocking Smoke Bombs for Kay. To get started, you need to meet some prerequisites. One is that you have to unlock ‘the Mechanic’ as your expert.
This will allow you to obtain intel regarding the location of the Smoke Bomb Compressor. The intel points to the Boulder Forest of the Toshara region. There are many hurdles that need to be crossed to get to the trasure that is the Copmpressor.
To reach the puzzle site, Kay needs to use grapple and reach the Fallen Mound. From there, you need to swing and cross the chasm that lies beneath. This puzzle is tricky because like many others it is a wind based puzzle.
There are gusts of wind that blow away Kay at certain intervals. You need to be mindful of the gaps and the timings or you will end up wasting a lot of time repeating it.
As a rule of thumb, the earlier gusts are slower, so you can just wait for them to stop and rush forwards, there isn’t any other traps of different types. There is a monster-beast like creature around this location, steer clear of it.
Reach the end of the space to see a rock wall, you can climb over it. Head up to see the ledge and climb up there as well. Now, head along the path to reach a place where there is an electric contraption. This is an essential node, that you need to shoot with your ion blaster.
When you shoot at it with your ion blaster, the gusts that are never-ending on the path in front of you, subside. This is your cue to head inside. The gusts restart in just like a couple of seconds.
You need to repeatedly shoot the electric node contraption to get ahead. Soon there will be a new node that you will need to shoot. You can reach the end of then cave by continuing forward.
Here, you can see a chest that you can collect. The item inside, the Overgrown Amber Stone Major Charm increases Kay’s health. You will see the Contriol Panel section and a doorway in front of you.
To open the door, let Nix hold one of them while you hold another, the door opens. You can ascend an elevator to reach the spot where you can find the chest that contains the Smoke Bomb Compressor.
