As a survivor venturing into the world of Once Human, you should know that there are multiple puzzles available for you. Each region has its unique puzzle; some can be solved with wit, while others may take a lot of running around.
Devious Paintings are events that you can find while playing the game. One of the seasonal requests is to solve a Devious Painting. These paintings are puzzles that are spread around the map in different ruins. Solving them is difficult but finding them is sometimes harder.
1. How to solve the Devious Painting puzzle in Once Human?
To solve the Devious Painting puzzles-
- Find an Artist’s Diary and a blank canvas in a ruin.
- Read the diary and activate the Spacetime effect.
- A painting will appear on the canvas with the location of the puzzle.
- Locations of the three puzzle ruins-Iron River: (5876, -4256), Red Sands: (4749, -2137) and (5371, 162) and Chalk Peak: ( 651, -6186)
- Find puzzles and paintings of maps in these locations.
- The solutions to the puzzles are- Iron River: (5889, -4257). Red Sands: (5381, 145), Chalk Peak: (668, -6165).
- Find and travel to that spot and look for a glowing, blurry object.
- Interact with the mysterious object and complete the puzzle to obtain the reward.
The ruins in Once Human sometimes contain the set of Artist’s Diary and a blank canvas. Finding both of these is the prerequisite to embarking on a puzzle-solving quest that requires you to open your map and stare intently to compare.
Mostly, the place with the reward for the puzzle is close by. You do need to find the Artist’s Diary and obtain the map to get the rewards.
2. Where to find the Devious Painting puzzles?
The Devious Painting Puzzles can be found in the following locations and coordinates-
- Iron River: 5876, -4256 (Level 21-30 recommended)
- Red Sands: There are two in Red Sands – (4749, -2137) and (5371, 162)
- Chalk Peak: ( 651, -6186)
By reading the diary, you will obtain a cryptic painting of the location of the puzzle. When you figure the location out, you can head there and solve those puzzles to get them sweet rewards. Wondering where they are located? I’ve got you covered.
2.1 Iron River Puzzle
Of the many puzzles, the one at the Iron River puzzle is the one you might find first. Not only is it easy to spot and solve, but it is strategically best to start there and move on to the rest. (Check the map above for the Painting)
Go to the location mentioned earlier for Iron River. It is better to be at a decent level as the monsters around can deal high damage to you otherwise. There is an ancient ruin with a towering tree in the center. You will find a diary under the tree.
2.2 Chalk Peak
To get the second Devious Painting, you need to head to the Chalk Peak region, which is a higher-level area. After you reach there, make your way to the southwest part of the Tall Grass Inn settlement.
You can find the Artist’s abandoned workshop. Get inside and use your Spacetime skill with the Q key. You will be able to discover and retrieve the painting from the seemingly blank canvas. This painting will reveal a cryptic location on the map where your reward drop is hidden.
Use your skill to pick up the map. Then, proceed to move out and travel just a bit northeast of the Artist’s workshop to (668, -6165), and you will find the loot crate.
2.3 Red Sands Puzzle
The final painting is in the Red Sands region; this a high-level endgame area, so be prepared for strong enemies along the way. Head northeast of the Blackfell settlement and you will be able to spot the now-familiar workshop of the Artist.
Do the same things and use your skill, retrieve the painting, and use your map skill. You will be able to see that the X is a bit north of where you are. You will be able to find the final reward drop and will have completed the Devious Paintings Puzzles.
