FIFA 22’s Career Mode Will Let You Create Your Own Club

In an update that’s bound to be welcomed with open arms by FIFA fans world over, EA Sports has announced that FIFA 22 will finally allow you to create your very own club in Career Mode.

The news came via a press release which Push Square first picked up. While the release neglected to reveal too much info, it did tease a new “Create a club experience” that will allow players to pick squads, design team kits, and logos, and develop team skills to take on the biggest clubs in world football.

FIFA 22 will be the first iteration of the long-running franchise to incorporate a create your club feature. However, it isn’t new to the football sub-genre in any way, as games like Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) and Football Manager (of course) have had the feature for a while now.

It won’t be surprising if FIFA 22’s create your club feature is similar to PES’ Master League mode. Master League lets you kick off your management career with a few average players and then lets you buy more players once you’ve earned more money.

Recent rumors have also indicated that FIFA 22 could have a fully online career mode. According to a job listing, EA is looking for an Online Software Engineer who can help build a “networked play development team.” The listing also outlines several of FIFA’s online services and hints at an “online career mode.”

If a fully online Career Mode is indeed happening, players could potentially pit their teams against those of other players. Will this happen through some sort of global league, or will players join a lobby that will pick an opposing team? Or will players have both options? Let’s hope EA shares some info on this soon.

FIFA 22 got its first reveal earlier this week with a new trailer. The trailer focused on the game’s key highlight – an under-the-hood feature called HyperMotion technology.

HyperMotion will reportedly combine “Advanced 11v11 Match Capture” with machine learning to give FIFA 22 players realistic movement and action in-game. However, this feature will be exclusive to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia versions of FIFA 22.

Players not interested in Career Mode will also get to access plenty of other returning features like VOLTA FOOTBALL, Pro Clubs, and FIFA Ultimate Team.

FIFA 22 arrives on October 1, 2021, for PC, PS4|5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
