Fate series is well known for its fantastic work of animation and story-telling. Although each season’s plot differs quite a bit from the next, everything is tied together by a common theme.
Unlike most anime, the Fate series isn’t based on a manga; instead, it is based on a video game series with the same name. Fate/Grand Order is one of the new anime to the Fate series and has gained popularity since its release in 2019.
On Wednesday, Aniplex announced that this year’s New Year’s television Special for the Fate franchise (Fate Project New Year’s Eve TV Special 2020) will be releasing a brand-new Fate/Grand Order anime short.

The New Year’s Eve TV Special will be broadcasted on Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV on December 31 from 10:00 p.m. to 11:55 p.m. (8:00 a.m. to 9:55 a.m. EST). The special will also be available on streaming platforms like Niconico Live and Abema TV.
The show will be hosted by voice actress Ayako Kawasumi and writer/radio personality Mafia Kajita. Various cast members like cast members Kana Ueda, Nobunaga Shimazaki, and Noriaki Sugiyama will also appear as guests.
The special will be covering the Fate/Grand Order game and the upcoming Fate/Grand Order films. The first Fate/Grand Order film, titled Wandering: Agateram, will release in theatres in Japan on December 5.
The special will also cover Fate/Stay Night: Heaven’s Feel III. spring song (the third film in the Fate/Stay Night: Heaven’s Feel film trilogy), the Everyday♪ Today’s Menu for Emiya Family (Mainichi♪ Emiya-sanchi no Kyō no Gohan) game, and the Fate/Extra Record game.
Last year’s Fate Project New Year’s Eve TV Special aired the “Episode 0 Initium Iter” anime for Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia (Fate/Grand Order: Zettai Majū Sensen Babylonia).
