The external trades keep coming in as Hiraku keeps up with all the negotiations in episode 9 of Farming Life in Another World titled “The Merchant and the Dragon.”
Their craving for seafood Hiraku proves enough motivation for much of the farm to find a way to procure it and eventually introduces them to Michael, a professional merchant with many connections in his network.
They also encounter more trade offers from many more villages and get a new farm member from Dryme’s family; she eventually settles down to become the village teacher.

Hiraku explains all the different types of slime that have begun populating the entire farm as they keep reproducing and showing up everywhere. The farm is in conflict over what to do about them as they wreak havoc on the farm.
The farm, however, was acquitted of its crime as they couldn’t find any point in punishing it; eventually, they decided to keep just the one red slime on the farm with them. Autumn cools down the season a bit, and sitting outside has become much more enjoyable.
Hiraku mentions seafood and talks about all the different kinds, including crabs and kombu, but none of them have ever seen one. They all split up and immediately took the initiative to find a seafood supplier.
He makes three conditions to start a business relationship with the farm that’s mutually beneficial to both parties. He even gives them an elaborate list of all the products they can procure and handles the negotiation professionally.
Michael gets a request from some surprise visitors from the farm who brought some food, and Lastismoon offers a lot of fruits and high-demand vegetables that could quickly turn a significant profit which he gladly accepts to trade for.
Another dragon shows up at the farm; at this point, Hiraku is just used to it. He throws a fireball in the near vicinity and smugly taunts him as she challenges him to a fight. However, she returns to her human form and reveals herself as Dryme’s sister.
Hiraku has her clean up the mess she made in her dragon form and eventually brought her to the farm, where they begin playing mahjong. She also suggests a wager, and Hiraku accidentally lets the idea of strip mahjong slide.
All the dragons are highly competitive, and each plays to the best of their ability as Hiraku finds himself losing hard and eventually ends up completely naked. The Demon Army council also finds themselves at a dead end as they wonder about the farm’s ever-growing strength.
They also get another trade offer from the Lamia tribe and some precious gems and rocks in exchange for their goods.
4. About Farming Life in Another World
Farming Life in Another World is an isekai manga by Kinosuke Naito. It was first launched in 2016 and will receive an anime in 2023.
The manga focuses on Kiraku, a middle-aged man who dies of overwork. A deity takes pity on him and transports him into another world with a younger and healthy body with additional powers.
Hiraku chooses to have a peaceful life farming and tending to his land. He eventually makes friends and even a tiny village on his farming journey.
