1. Episode 10 Preview & Speculation

It looks like Urawa Hosei only focused on Suo, and they don’t have a lot on Nozomi. Hopefully, their lack of intel on her is bare minimum to catch them off guard when the real game starts.

I’m curious about how Alice of Urawa and Soshizaki are going to interact. Alice looks like a striker, and Soshizaki is kind of the backbone of the defense.

I wonder why the other team thinks that Onda is a fantastic player when she has only done one impressive play and messed up the rest and doesn’t actively participate in practice.

3. Episode 9 Recap

At Urawa Hosei High School, Alice Adatara watches the ‘Heartthrob Country’ trailer on her phone, sitting in class. Chika Kirishima walks up to her and tells her that there’s a meeting for the soccer team and they should go there soon.

While walking across the hallway, two boys notice Yū Tenma and try to approach her. She turns around and calls one of the boys ‘stinky breath.’

It is then revealed that Urawa High School has won the Saitama girls’ high school soccer prefectural prelims eight years in a row. The Warabi Seinan High Schools’ team is their next opponent.

At the meeting, the girls go over the strategy to defeat the Warabis. Their captain Nanami Saizen commands the recon team, so Kei Hanabusa lists the strategies of Warabis to the team. She says that Suou and Soshizaki are strong members of the Warabis.

Chika becomes irritated when Kei compliments Soshizaki because it reminds her of the time she lost against Kunogi Team. Kei reveals a mystery player on the Warabis team and calls her a ‘Jizo statue.’

Meanwhile, the Warabis are practicing. Soshizaki kicks the ball over to Onda, but she ignores it. Soshizaki asks why she didn’t go after the ball, and Onda replies that she likes to receive passes at her feet. Shiratori comes over to insult Onda, and they get into an argument.

Then Suou comes over to insult Shiratori. Soshizaki tells them not to underestimate Urawa and to go back to their positions. As Naoko watches over, she realizes that the girls really get along well and are pumped up for their next match.

On the day of the tournament, it rains heavily, making the field soaking wet, and there are puddles everywhere. The Warabis arrive at the entrance of the stadium while Urawa arrives in their own bus.

Naoko meets Urawa’s coach Masahiro Gotoda, in the hallway. Gotoda tries to hit on her, but Yu arrives and drives him away. As a fan of Naoko, Yu asks Naoko for a handshake.

As Warabis change into their kits in the dressing room, they recall some old memories and share them with each other. Both the teams arrive in the stadium and line up to exchange handshakes.

Chika notices Onda and realizes that she must be the ‘Jizo Statue’ that Kei mentioned. Most of the Warabi members agree that Urawa is a strong opponent and feel terrified. Shiratori tries to cheer everyone up before the game.
