Gameplay Reveal of Far Cry 6 Coming This Friday

Far Cry fans will finally get a look at some gameplay from the 6^th installment in the franchise this Friday, on May 28^th. While it was initially slated for a February release, the game has been facing several pandemic-related issues, which has delayed its launch. It is now expected to hit shelves sometime before March 2022.

Even though we were supposed to get the final game in February, we still haven’t seen any gameplay of Far Cry 6. For now, we only have a CGI teaser trailer, so May 28^th is going to be marked on a lot of calendars. We don’t know much about the game aside from the fact that the main antagonist is played by Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring from Breaking Bad).

It will be interesting to see the game in action after what has been a fairly rocky development period.

The Far Cry 6 Worldwide Gameplay Reveal Livestream will be aired at 9:30 am PDT and 6:30 pm CEST on May 28^th. No one knows how long the event will go on, but they have released a teaser trailer.

Ubisoft hit a bit of a bump when senior game designer on Far Cry 6, Marc McGinley, left the studio. Reasons for his departure are still not known, but he did announce that “It’s been a pleasure to have worked with so many talented folks across a number of brands.”

Before McGinley’s departure, fans and insiders were speculating on the possibility of Far Cry 6 releasing on May 25^th or April 30^th. While that rumor has since been proven false, we’re hoping the gameplay trailer comes with some indication of a launch date.

Far Cry 6 is based in the fictional Yara, a Caribbean island inspired by real-world Cuba. The Dictator of the island, Anton Castillo – played by Esposito – has a firm grip on the island and is also raising his son, Diego, to take his place in the future. The player will step into the shoes of a local soldier who leads a resistance against the dictator to bring freedom to the island.

We can expect to learn more about the story and the gameplay this Friday, so mark your calendars and set your alarms.
