Things have been slow on the Fantastic Beasts series for a while now and there is complete confusion about the existence of the third part of the series. But the Oscar-winning star Eddie Redmayne has given an update about the upcoming third instalment of the wizarding world prequel.
In any scenario, we hope that the production of the movie goes well and there aren’t any backlashes. It is arriving in theatres on November 2021, and hopefully, there will be no further delay.
Newt Scamander himself can’t wait to get started with the third movie. Speaking to ET, Redmayne was asked to spill the beans on Fantastic Beasts 3. The star restated info that we already knew, saying that the film will go on the floors early next year, but also that J.K. Rowling is still working on the script. He promised fans that it’d be “really exciting” once it’s finally out.
“Well, we’re meant to start shooting in the beginning of next year. The script is still being worked on. That’s nothing — I’m literally giving you nothing! I’m trying to do that thing of talking about it and saying nothing, because of the fear of getting told off. But no, it’s happening, and it’s really exciting.”
Fantastic Beasts 3 was initially due to be out next year but was pushed to 2021 thanks to the lacklustre performance of The Crimes of Grindelwald. The lukewarm success of Crimes of Grindelwald forced Warner Bros to reconsider the future of this series and eventually to delay production.
It is not a surprise that J.K Rowling is still working on the script, as she received some lousy publicity during the second part of the series. Potterheads were angry over how it messed up the ongoing continuity and poorly depicted some old characters. Now Rowling and Warner Bros want to ensure that things are not bad for the third party.
