Get ready for Family Feud’s season 22 as the popular game show is headed back for production in Atlanta on Tuesday.
The producers of the game show, which airs in the first-run syndication, plan to have new episodes of the series ready for airing by September. In a special report, Deadline revealed that Family Feud will be shot with minimal crew and no audience.
While the show will maintain its usual style, slight adjustments have been made to the set so that Harvey, the contestants, and the crew are able to maintain the required social distancing measures.
Besides, the crew will be wearing personal protective equipment and have regular temperature checks along with the other rigorous health and safety protocols put in place by the government.
It may be noted that different precautionary measures have been laid out by the state and local governments as well as the union and industry bodies. The production will comply with all these rules.
Production on season 22 has been split between LA and Atlanta with some early episodes shot indoors and in California before the crew moved back to Georgia.
The syndicated show is produced by Fremantle North America and distributed by Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury. It has been gaining great viewership during the last few months as people are spending more time at home.
Nielsen National Syndication Rankings show that it has become the number one show across all demographics for the second quarter of 2020. In overall households, it is now topping Jeopardy! and in adults 25-54 and women 25-54 it comes in ahead of Judge Judy.
Family Feud was created by Mark Goodson and first aired in 1976. It features two teams of contestants competing against each other to win cash and prizes.
Before we forget, the latest season is set for premiere this fall. The 22nd season of the Family Feud series, hosted by Steve Harvey, will premiere on September 14th.
