The Falcon and The Winter Soldier‘s recent TV spot has revealed a closer glimpse at the Wakandan technology installed in Bucky’s mechanical arm. Following the aftermath of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Bucky realizes what had happened to him and, with the help of Wakanda, decided to go under the ice once again as a form of rehabilitation in Captain America: Civil War.
His progress seemed to be going well, as was seen in Black Panther‘s post-credits and eventually in Avengers: Infinity War.
After his disintegration due to Thanos’ snap and his resurrection, Bucky is currently living in a post-Infinity Saga time, moving forward without Steve Rogers. But, this time, he has teamed up with Sam Wilson in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier to tackle enemies new and old.
While Sam’s narrative will focus on his journey to possibly becoming the next Captain America, Bucky will be working through his traumatic past as the Winter Soldier, as seen from the show’s pilot episode. Even though both characters are yet to cross each other’s paths, they will be teaming up very soon to begin their allied mission.
A new TV spot shared by Marvel Studios Movies for the show puts focus on Bucky’s Vibranium arm as he shows it to Sam. In one of the scenes, the mechanical arm clicks into place on his shoulder, revealing the cutting-edge Wakandan technology inside.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will ascertain what lies ahead for Sam and Bucky. As of now, Bucky is going through therapy to deal with his past and to compensate for his crimes as the Winter Soldier.
Even though his actions were involuntary, he still seems to be haunted by his crimes, which were manipulated by HYDRA. Bucky’s efforts to deal with his past would not only be good for the people he hurt, but also for himself as he ventures on a new life with his own identity.
