Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest– Release Date, Plot and Latest Updates

After an eternity’s worth of wait, the popular T.V. anime Fairy Tail is finally back with its long-awaited sequel, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest. It is the official sequel to the anime that first aired in 2009, and the last season was released in 2019. In the ten years it aired, fans enjoyed the series to its fullest. However, after the long run, the anime reached a stopping point and went on a hiatus. In the long-awaited sequel, the story will focus on the adventures of our main protagonist gang as they take on the legendary “100-Year Quest”. Here’s everything you need to know.

The official website and Twitter account for the upcoming T.V. anime adaptation ofFairy Tail: 100 Year Quest, the sequel to Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail manga series illustrated by Atsuo Ueda, have released a main trailer and the key visuals.

The new Fairy Tail anime is set to premiere in Japan on July 7, 2024, and anticipation is high following the five-year gap between 100 Years Quest and the series’ last season, which concluded in September 2019.

New Trailer Dropped

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest has revealed the first anime trailer before its premiere. The anime also revealed Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Erza, and Wendy character trailers earlier this week. You can watch the trailer featuring the theme song “Story” by Da-iCE below.

Popular five-member boy band Da-iCE previously also performed the track for One Piece’s 23rd opening, “DREAMIN’ ON.” Fairy Tail’s official website has also announced 100 Years Quest’s ending theme song as “Tomo yo, Koko de Sayonara da” (“My Friend, We Say Our Farewells Here”) by female idol group Boku ga Mitekatta Aozora.

The key visual of Fairy Tail: 100 Year Quest features a familiar sight-Natsu, Lucy, Erza, Gray, Wendy, Happy, and Carla. The original gang returns for another adventure, this time with new obstacles and villains, promising a fresh and exciting storyline.

Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest Staff and Cast

The Fairy Tail anime series’ director Shinji Ishihara is the chief director for the new anime, while Toshinori Watanabe (Edens Zero, Mix: Meisei Story, Tokyo Ghoul: re) is directing the new anime at J.C. Staff. Atsuhiro Tomioka, who wrote scripts for many episodes of the previous Fairy Tail anime, supervises the scripts. Yurika Sako (Edens Zero) is designing the characters. Shōji Hata returns from the last series as sound director, while Yasuharu Takanashi returns for the music.

J.C. Staff is best known for anime such as DanMachi, Food Wars, and Toradora. The studio is replacing the series’ previous animators at Bridge, Satelight, Dentsu Inc., A-1 Pictures, and CloverWorks.

100 Years Quest’s main voice cast has been announced as follows, with all reprising their original roles, with Tetsuya Kakihara voicing Natsu Dragneel, Aya Hirano voicing Lucy Heartfilia, Sayaka Ohara voicing Erza Scarlet and Yuichi Nakamura voicing Gray Fullbuster. Wendy Marvell is voiced by Satomi Sato, while Rie Kugimiya and Yui Horie voice Happy and Carla.

The ‘100 Years Quest’ that Natsu’s group take on is their most challenging mission yet. They must seal the Five Dragon Gods , each capable of unleashing global devastation, at all costs.

A new addition to the Fairy Tail guild, Touka, brings a new dynamic. At first, she seems to fit in perfectly, but beneath her friendly exterior, she harbors a dark secret. While striving to seal the Five Dragon Gods, Natsu and his allies face a fierce confrontation with Diabolos, whose nefarious intentions pose a significant threat, making it crucial that they don’t get their hands on the Dragon Gods’ power and still complete their mission.

The anime will debut in Japan on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at 17:30 (JST) and will be available on Crunchyroll. The TV anime will also be released initially on T.V. Tokyo’s six affiliated stations.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest is a Japanese manga series written and storyboarded by Hiro Mashima, and illustrated by Atsuo Ueda. It is a sequel to Mashima’s Fairy Tail series. An anime television series adaptation produced by J.C.Staff is set to premiere in July 2024.

One year following the demise of Zeref and Acnologia, Natsu Dragneel and his team from the Fairy Tail wizard guild embark on the 100 Years Quest, a mission that has been unaccomplished for over a century, on the northern continent of Guiltina.
