Netflix has been on a roll over the last few years when it comes to streaming original anime. After the success of shows like Baki the Grappler and Shaman King, the company is looking to expand its lineup. A recent announcement will make fans of the horror genre quite delighted!
Last year, Netflix had decided to collaborate with several Japanese content creators to produce several original anime. The streaming company wants to create a number of shows in various genres. With that motto, it has decided to produce a one of its kind space horror anime.
Netflix has released the first-ever visual for the upcoming anime titled “Exception.”
The announcement was made on Day 4 of the ongoing virtual event “Geeked Week.” The fourth day focused on animated content from all over the globe. It is expected that the streaming platform would share the premiere date and other broadcast details of the anime within the next few days.
We can see the logo of the upcoming show in the released visual. A terrifying monster with long hair and claw-like hands is depicted in the picture as well. Fans expect Netflix to drop a trailer of the anime pretty soon!

According to Netflix, the anime’s story will focus on a team of experts who have arrived on a distant planet. They encounter a mysterious space creature who does not want them there! We expect the anime to have elements of classic horror drama and science fiction.
Yoshitaka Amano is a well-known face in the industry and is best known for his character designs in the Final Fantasy franchise. His inclusion in the crew of the upcoming anime has excited the fans. The monster depicted in the visual is just a glimpse of his work!

About Exception
Exception is a Japanese space horror anime series. It is based on a story by Hirotaka Adachi (aka “Otsuichi”), with character designs by Final Fantasy’s Yoshitaka Amano.
The story is set in the distant future, where human beings have been forced to leave earth and migrate to another galaxy. An advanced team of spacecraft arrives at a planet that is to be terraformed. Each member of the team is output by a biological 3D printer.
