Everything You Need to Know About Lucifer Season 5 Part 2

No one would have called devil sexy if it weren’t for Tom Ellis’ Lucifer Morningstar. The Fox’s (now Netflix’s) Lucifer changed how the devil was perceived. The latest and fifth season of Lucifer came out on August 21, 2020, and it was filled with a rollercoaster of emotions.

However, due to the pandemic situation, a part of the filming of the complete season 5 wasn’t possible. Hence, season five was split into two parts, comprising eight episodes each.

The remaining part of the filming is finally completed, and the season is in the post-production stage so that we can expect Lucifer season 5B on our televisions sooner than later.

The cast and crew of Lucifer have long since teased various aspects of the upcoming season, and the fans have gone into a frenzy, trying to understand all the clues that were dropped.

1. What to Expect in Lucifer Season 5 Part 2?

Before we talk about the upcoming episodes, let us quickly recount the events of the season 5A finale episode.

At the end of the episode, we see an epic double face-off between Lucifer and Maze, and Amenadiel and Michael (Lucifer’s twin). As the battle progresses, we see beams of light-converging into the building, and *poof* God appears. The finale episode ended with God calmly saying,

“children, you know I hate it when you fight.”

The upcoming season is very likely to show family drama with God, Lucifer, and his siblings. With season 5, part 1 ending with God making an appearance when his kids were busy brawling.

The first half of season 5 saw intense and dark themes, likely to continue in future episodes. It was previously teased that season 5B of Lucifer will be the most emotional season.

In season 5B, God is expected to stay on Earth for a while. On November 23, 2020, the official Twitter account of Lucifer tweeted a clue about it.

Of course, fans tried to crack the code *ahem* asterisks *ahem* and concluded that the message read: Get ready for God’s extended stay on Earth. If the series stays true to its comic book origin, we would eventually see the creation of the DC Universe.

The other thing to look forward to from the upcoming episodes from season 5B would be the demon face of Maze (played by Lesley-Ann Brandt). Fans will get to see Maze’s demon face for the first time.

One of the most anticipated things about the upcoming season could be the musical episode: Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam. It has continuously been teased about by the cast and crew of the series.

I. What to Expect From the Musical Episode?

The musical episode from season 5B will be titled: Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam. On September 12, 2020, Lucifer was featured in the DC Fandom event, where it had released a new clip from the said episode.

The episode is set in an alternative reality in the 1940s era. To make it better, the episode is shot in black and white.

2. Who Will Join the Cast?

The cast that appeared in season 5, part 1, will make a comeback in part 2. We will see:

3. When Will Lucifer Season 5B be Released?

Nothing about the release date of Lucifer season 5 part 2 is confirmed yet. But it is a known fact that the show has already finished filming for the upcoming episodes, which began on September 24, 2020.

The co-showrunner Joe Henderson on October 7, 2020, tweeted that the season would not release in December since it was still in its post-production stage back then.

Hopefully, we will get to watch it on our TVs in late February or early March this year. The series will also release on the streaming giant Netflix.

Season 5 was initially renewed for 16 episodes, out of which the first eight episodes have been released as part one. Season 5B will contain the next eight episodes of the installment.

5. Will Lucifer get a season 6?

On June 23, 2020, Netflix renewed Lucifer for season six. It was announced via a tweet from their official Twitter account.

Fans were pleasantly shocked about the announcement. But since we’re still only halfway across season 5, we have enough time to worry about season 6 later.

For now, all we can do is wait for Lucifer season 5B to release to feed our curiosity.

6. About Lucifer

Lucifer is an American urban fantasy drama series created by Tom Kapinos. It is based on the DC Comics character from The Sandman, created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg. Warner Bros. Entertainment and DC Entertainment produce the series.

Originally premiered in 2016, Lucifer was picked up by Netflix when Fox canceled the show after three seasons. Lucifer is set to end with Season 6, which is rumored to air early in 2022.

The series revolves around Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis), the Devil, who abandons Hell for Los Angeles, where he runs his own nightclub named ‘LUX’ and becomes a consultant to the LAPD. All the while working on his character development to be a better Devil/Angel.

The latest season featured the retirement of God, a lot of broken hearts and mending relationships, ambitious Angels, and the Devil taking it upon himself to right the wrongs of his dear ol’ dad, God.
