Everything You Need To Know About Liu Zhigang In Solo Leveling

He gave off an incredibly powerful aura that made people think he could be at par with Jinwoo. This hunter was Liu Zhigang, and he will be having more of an appearance in the upcoming season of Solo Leveling.

In this article, we will cover everything you need to know about Liu Zhigang, from his identity to his powers and even his current ranking in terms of power. We may go into a few spoilers from the manhwa, so please proceed cautiously.

Who Is Liu Zhigang?

Liu Zhigang is the strongest hunter in China and one of the five national-level hunters in Solo Leveling. He is also the second strongest hunter in the world, excluding Jinwoo, of course.

Liu Zhigang is a handsome young man with black hair and yellow eyes. He wears his long hair in a ponytail and is often seen in formal attire. Despite being the second strongest hunter in the world, he doesn’t seem to be arrogant about his position. He had openly declared that Jinwoo was significantly stronger than himself and dismissed the opinions of anyone who thought otherwise.

Liu Zhigang’s Abilities Explained

Being the strongest hunter in Asia before Jinwoo’s introduction, Liu Zhigang showed absolute dominance, and he’s known to be several times stronger than Japan’s most powerful hunter, Goto Ryuji. He is a master swordsman, and his raw skill with the sword is enough to set him apart from the average S-rank hunter.

Liu Zhigang also possesses immense speed and is capable of defeating most opponents instantaneously, and this also also seen in episode 13 of Solo leveling Season 2. Liu Zhigang’s primary attacks pack so much power thanks to his energy slash attacks, which cause explosions on the objects struck. This was also shown in the latest episode of the anime.

One thing that sets Liu Zhigang apart from other national level hunters is the fact that he is the vessel of a ruler (we will explain this shortly). Thanks to the Ruler’s authority, Liu Zhigang can control and move objects using telekinesis, this also provides him an edge in battle. Finally, Liu Zhigang can also perform spiritual body manifestation like every other overpowered character in Solo Leveling.

Is Liu Zhigang A Ruler?

No, Liu Zhigang isn’t a Ruler. He, however, is a vessel of a Ruler. Rulers are an ancient race of angelic warriors created by the Abosolute Being. Every individual ruler possesses incredible power that is out of the charts. Solo Leveling will introduce the concept of Rulers and Monarchs (the arch-enemies of Rulers) in the upcoming season.

Vessels are humans that were granted powers of Rulers. This was done by Rulers so they could extend their reach to the human world. Liu Zhigang, who was the vessel of a Ruler, is capable of using the Ruler’s authority, which enabled him to use telekinesis.

Is Liu Zhigang Stronger Than Beru?

Yes, Liu Zhigang is undoubtedly stronger than Beru. The fact that he expressed his disappointed for not being able to fight the Ant King shows how he didn’t see it as a threat. Jinwoo hadn’t reached level 100 until he finished killing all the ants. During his fight against Thomas Andre, the strongest hunter in the world, he was at level 122, and he had to struggle quite a bit in the fight.

Considering this, it would be safe to assume that Jinwoo is probably weaker than Liu Zhigang during the Jeju Island arc. If that’s the case, then Liu Zhigang could easily annihilate the ant king and every other ant on that island on his own.
