Netflix is all set to release its new series Jupiter’s Legacy this summer with a brand-new trailer. As the much-awaited adaptation gets closer to its release on May 7, 2021, here’s a recap of everything we know about the show.
The teaser for Jupiter’s Legacy was first dropped in February. However, the clip did not give a peek at any visuals of the cast or the plot. But it did feature a voiceover of star Josh Duhamel’s character, Sheldon Sampson.
Now, Netflix has released the official trailer for Jupiter’s Legacy. Putting the Sampson family’s differences at the forefront, the trailer keeps shifting between two timelines: the older generation in the 1930s, with Sheldon leading The Union, and the younger one, his children—Chloe and Brandon, who have difficulties adapting to their new roles decades later. It also gives brief glimpses into the other Union squad members.
Millarworld also released a poster for the upcoming series on its official Twitter account, along with the caption “TRAILER. TOMORROW. #JupitersLegacy is coming to @netflix May 7th”. The poster depicts the Sampson family all decked up in their superhero costumes.
The account also released some stills which give a peek into the epic fight sequences headed to the audience’s screens. In one of the images, the OG members of the Union, Sheldon, Walter, and Grace can be seen. The others feature singles of Chloe, Brandon, and supervillain Baryon.
The first season of the series will consist of eight episodes and will premiere on Netflix on May 7, 2021. In May of last year, writer Mark Millar confirmed that the TV series would cover a “combination” of Jupiter’s Legacy 1 and 2, along with Jupiter’s Circle 1 and 2.
Based on the comic book series of the same name, Jupiter’s Legacy follows the first generation of superheroes who gained their powers in the 1930s. However, in the present day, they are revered as elder guards while their children struggle with living up to their parents’ legacy.
