Netflix’s and BBC’s co-production Peaky Blinders has five seasons under its belt with a sixth on the way. Production was stalled but it looks like it will get back on track later in 2020.
Here’s everything we know so far about Peaky Blinders season 6.
The British import is one of Netflix’s best international dramas to date. Set in the 1920s, it follows a gangster family back in Birmingham, England. The series first airs on the BBC network but Netflix stands as its international distributor.
Season 5, which landed on Netflix US on October 4, 2019, released on Netflix UK on April 22.
What will happen in season 6 of Peaky Blinders?
Season 5 saw “the Shelbys grapple with the 1929 stock market crash whileTommy confronted new threats to his power from younger family members and fascist rivals.”
Season 5 left us with a huge cliffhanger after its tempestuous events.
Tommy ended the season screaming at his dead wife with a gun pointed to his head before it cuts to black. Will Tommy end up killing himself? His PTSD was clearly taking hold.

When will season 6 be on Netflix?
Filming was originally scheduled to take place for season 6 of Peaky Blinders from February 2020 as per ProductionWeekly.
However, the pandemic hit just as Peaky Blinders was gearing up to start shooting.
It has been understood that filming will take place once again in Liverpool and Scotland but not before the end of November. An estimate of five months of shooting will be required for season 6.
Though we don’t know the release date yet, with a November 2020 start date, Q4 2021/Q1 2022 would be a logical estimate.
