This two-week event sends players on an adventurous quest to take down Holiday Scorched across Appalachia, earning them merry mystery boxes packed with surprises. From junk to rare treasures and exclusive holiday loot, every package is a gift – and might just contain a special seasonal surprise!
So bring your festive spirit and join the hunt!
1. Fallout 76: Holiday Scorched Event Guide
The Holiday Scorched event is now live until August 6th, 2024, and is expected to return later this year around Christmas.
You’ll know when a holiday scorched is nearby, as they jingle all the way – literally! The closer they are, the louder the sound. Visually, they can be distinguished by their festive attire, making them easily recognizable in the game environment. These differences set them apart from regular scorched enemies.
Players should take advantage of the Holiday Scorched event to farm Scrip and earn event-exclusive rewards, as every encounter is guaranteed to be a legendary enemy. The chances of encountering a 1-star, 2-star, or 3-star legendary Holiday Scorched are 55%, 40%, and 5%, respectively. You can find them in any Scorched spawn location, except for instances and interior areas like the Valley Galleria.
Defeating them yields not only their standard legendary loot but also Holiday Gifts, which come in small, regular, and large sizes. The larger the gift, the better your chances of scoring rare rewards. Additionally, you can craft gifts or use the Santatron Collectron to get them, offering alternative ways to collect these festive treats.
I. Holiday Scorched Farming Locations
Here are some of the best locations to farm for holiday scorched.
- Wavy Willard’s Water Park
- Tyler County Fairgrounds
- Morgantown Airport
- Bolton Greens
- Greg’s Mine Supplies
- Helvetia
- Sutton
- Camden Park
- Poseidon Energy Plant
- Summersville Docks
II. Holiday Scorched Farming Events
Take advantage of the following events to farm Holiday Scorched and gifts:
- Scorched Horde: Randomly spawned events that can yield a few gifts, although not the most efficient farming method.
- Line in The Sand: A public event occurring every 20 minutes, ideal for collecting multiple Holiday Gifts by fending off waves of Scorched.
- Collision Course: A player-triggered event at Morgantown Airport, with a 30-minute cooldown period per server. This event offers a unique opportunity for farming.
III. Tips for Farming Holiday Scorched
- Before starting, consider traveling to The Crater for free to save Caps. If you’re having trouble finding Holiday Scorched on your current server, consider switching to another server for better luck.
- Due to the high demand and many players hunting them, popular locations may be depleted of Holiday Scorched.
- Server-hopping can increase your chances of finding untouched locations and making the most of the Holiday Scorched event.
- Keep an eye on event timers and locations, and be prepared to adapt to changing circumstances, such as event cooldowns or other players’ activities.
- Use your Fallout 1st subscription, if available, to access private servers and farm events more efficiently.
2. Fallout 76: Holiday Scorched Event Rewards
Unwrap the excitement with Holiday Gifts!
The larger the gift, the better the rewards, as they offer the highest chance of scoring rare items. When you open a Holiday Gift, you can expect to find a variety of goodies, including:
- Aid items to boost your progress
- Caps and Scrip to fuel your adventures
- Consumables to enhance your gameplay
- Junk to craft or trade
- Grenades for added firepower
- Apparel items to customize your look
Holiday Gifts dropped by Holiday Scorched contain the following rewards:
Small Holiday Gift | Holiday Gift (30%) | Large Holiday Gift (10%) |
---|---|---|
1x Holiday Junk 1x Goodies 1x Holiday Reward (5%) Rare Taxidermy Plan (0,56%) | 1x Holiday Junk 1x Goodies 1x Holiday Reward (20%) 1x Holiday Currency Ammo based on the current weapon Rare Taxidermy Plan (2,22%) | 1x Holiday Junk 1x Goodies 1x Holiday Reward (40%) 1x Holiday Currency Ammo based on the current weapon Rare Taxidermy Plan (4,44%) |
I. Handmade Holiday Gifts
If you’d rather not spend time hunting down Holiday Scorched, there’s an alternative. You can purchase Gift wraps, which are used to make handmade gifts and earn rewards.
Gift Wrap is sold by Vendor Bots in Fo76 and Grahm. You can find it in the ‘Misc’ section of their inventory. There are three types of Gift Wrap that players can buy with Caps:
- Low-Quality Gift Wrap: Lowest Price: 219 Caps
- Medium-Quality Gift Wrap: Lowest Price: 656 Caps
- High-Quality Gift Wrap: Lowest Price: 1,925 Caps
To craft Handmade Holiday Gifts, simply combine Gift Wrap and Adhesive at a Tinker’s Workbench. Keep in mind that the Super Duper perk card doesn’t apply to Holiday gift crafting, and the vendors will stop selling Gift Wrap once the event ends, so be sure to stock up while you can!
Handmade Holiday Gifts have a higher chance than dropped gifts to contain a Holiday Reward and contain the following rewards:
Small Handmade Gift | Handmade Gift | Large Handmade Gift |
---|---|---|
2x Holiday Junk 2x Goodies 1x Holiday Reward (10%) Rare Taxidermy Plan (1,11%) | 1x Holiday Junk 1x Goodies 1x Holiday Reward (40%) 1x Holiday Currency Ammo for current weapon Rare Taxidermy Plan (4,44%) | 2x Holiday Junk 3x Goodies 1x Holiday Reward (60%) 1x Holiday Currency Ammo for current weapon Rare Taxidermy Plan (6,67%) |
II. Tips For Buying Gift Wrap
- For the best value, opt for Medium Quality Gift Wrap. It offers the most efficient use of caps when crafting Medium Handmade Gifts, although the chances of receiving a Holiday Reward are 33% lower.
- To get the best deals, maximize your Charisma to 25 by combining bonuses from the Level 3 Hard Bargain perk (+9 Charisma), Grape Mentats (+5 Charisma), the Magnetic Personality perk, and joining a Roleplay Team.
- Equip the Hard Bargain perk and take Grape Mentats just before purchasing from a vendor to secure the lowest prices.
- If you’re looking to splurge on Gift Wrap, head to the faction vendors at the Whitespring Resort. You can buy all the Gift Wraps they have in stock, then server-hop and repeat the process to acquire even more.
- To make the most of your cap supply, sell any unwanted items to a vendor to deplete your caps before making a Gift Wrap purchase. This way, some of the caps will be refunded to you, allowing you to stretch your budget further.
- Additionally, be sure to visit the Vendor Bot at Whitespring Station, which sells two of each Gift Wrap type.
III. Santatron Collectron
Fallout 76’s CAMP collectors, such as the Santatron, can be programmed to gather specific items, including the Scorched Holiday Gifts.
If you’re one of the lucky ones who snagged the Santatron during its limited-time offer in the Atomic Shop, be sure to lock it and its terminal to protect it from theft and tampering.
During workshop defense events, be prepared to fend off waves of Scorched, which may include the elusive Holiday Scorched, providing an additional opportunity to collect these rare gifts.
And, if you’re a Fallout 1st member playing on a private server, you’re in luck! Take advantage of the ability to claim all workshops and place a Collectron in each one to create a network of gift-gathering machines, maximizing your collection of Holiday gifts and other items.
