In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy’s Venom crosses paths with Knull, the mighty God of symbiotes, in an all-out battle in the alien kingdom.
There are many stunning symbiotes unleashed in this final chapter of the Venom trilogy. Let’s take a look at each of these creatures and how they assist or impede Venom’s mission against Knull.
1 Patrick Mulligan and Toxin
One of the most influential characters in this story is Detective Patrick Mulligan, who shares a deep connection with not just one but two symbiotes.
Initially, Patrick is bonded with Toxin, but that connection soon comes to an end when Toxin abandons him. Rescued by scientists at Area 55, Mulligan then receives a new, teal-colored, serpent-like symbiote through the Imperium Project.
This new symbiote is quite unique in its nature, and Patrick’s unending devotion to fighting Knull’s forces makes him an important asset in Venom’s army.
2 Doctor Teddy Payne and Agony
Doctor Teddy Payne, a scientist at the Imperium Project, enters the battle in a grand way with Agony, a conventional symbiote that gains new powers.
Payne’s purple symbiote becomes a deal-breaker as she puts her full strength into saving Sadie Christmas, another key ally of Eddie Brock. Together, Agony and Payne form a perfect duo, fighting Knull’s soldiers with unmatched skill.
3 Sadie Christmas and Lasher (?)
Sadie Christmas bonds with a green symbiote that bears a striking resemblance to Lasher. She becomes one of Venom’s most powerful allies, protecting Eddie and teaming up with Venom against Knull.
Sadie’s bond with Lasher transforms her into a new “She-Venom” with exceptional skills and devotion, playing an instrumental role in the final fight.
As she takes on Knull’s Xenophages, Sadie proves that the symbiote family extends beyond Venom and Eddie, bringing a refreshing twist to the battle.
4 Jim the Security Guard and Phage
Jim, a security guard at Area 55, is on the verge of death when he is saved by a yellowish-orange symbiote resembling Phage, which bonds with him.
His unyielding loyalty adds strength to Venom’s team as he faces Knull’s monstrous forces. Phage brings an aggressive edge to Venom’s team with its fiery temperament and strong connection with its host, making Jim and Phage a formidable combination in the chaotic final showdown.
5 Hybrid and Other Symbiotes
Some more variations are seen in the movie, involving a massive surprise for the fans. Yes, you guessed it right: Hybrid Symbiotes.
One notable instance of the same can be observed when a blue and purple symbiote fuse to form a two-headed warrior symbiote, evidently inspired by the “Hybrid” symbiote from the OG Marvel Comics.
Apart from the Hybrid we see a couple more new symbiotes, one of them appearing silvery-white who bonds with another scientist, complementing the power of Venom to fight against the Xenophage army of the King in Black.
Giving a throwback to the OG Comics once again, a red symbiote with fire powers makes a brief appearance on the screen, likely inspired by Scream, the red symbiote from the comics.
5 Venom’s Animal Hosts: A Wild Twist
In a shocking turn of events, Venom ends up bonding with organism beyond the Homo sapiens for brief scenes, creating a string of ridiculous and humorous moments.
From a horse that assists Eddie gallop across the sand dunes to a FROG (!) and even a cockroach (?) in the post-credits scene of the movie, these host animals provide plenty of comic relief to other otherwise fast-paced superhero action film.
With the same scene teasing the involvement of kangaroos and lions, there’s more than us fans are still unaware about!
Final Thoughts
Being an epic sendoff (along with the unexpected twists in the post-credits scene), The Last Dance blends the many unique capabilities of Venom with the recklessly virtuous attitude of Eddie, the movie materializes as the ultimate chapter for the story of Eddie Brock and Venom.
With true allies, massively powerful enemies, and of course, hilarious animal hosts, The Last Dance has set the stage at an awesome standing, from where fans are left to wonder about the future of the franchise within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
