Epic Games has published some stats on its website about its Epic Games Store. The data reveals exciting information such as total customers, total users who claimed the various free games on the store, etc.
After being launched in 2019, Epic Games Store has shown tremendous growth, especially during the past year. Many people logged in to claim the various free games offered to players throughout the year, and Epic Games has the stats to back that. In a blog post on its website, the company shared a detailed infographic that shows the Epic Games Store’s growth in 2020, compared to 2019.
Epic Games shared an infographic about the Epic Games Store on its website. It showed that, in 2020, users claimed more than 749 million free games on the store, almost $700 million was spent by PC players on the store, and other interesting data.
Epic Games’ free games have been an excellent way to get people to come back to their store. Its monthly active users almost doubled from 32 million in December 2019 to 56 million in December 2020.
Epic Games also saw an increase in their daily active user count, which went up to 31.3 million, a 192% boost claimed by the company. Additionally, their concurrent player count hit 13 million in 2020, almost double its 7 million peaks in 2019.
The infographic released by Epic Games mentioned that “749M+ free games claimed”. While the company has not released an exact number, it’s safe to say that it might be about 750 million. In total, 103 different games were given away for free by Epic Games Store in 2020 and seeing the numbers, plenty of users claimed those free games.
According to Epic Games, the free giveaways amounted to a total of $2,407 in value to put things into a quantitative perspective. The infographic also showed that the free games had an average rating of 77%, according to OpenCritic. Thus, it means that the games were majorly favored by those who played then, on Epic Games Store or elsewhere.
In the blog post, Epic Games said,
“We’re making strides to offer more titles on the store by onboarding more developers and introducing their titles to the Epic Games ecosystem. The Epic Games Store grew from 190 games in 2019 to 471 in 2020. We released 103 weekly free games which were a big part of the titles that made their way to the store. In 2021, we’re going to rapidly expand the catalog of new titles available on the Epic Games Store even further by providing developers with self-publishing tools for the EGS Platform and we’ll be releasing details on those specific plans soon.”
