Episode 11 Speculation

With the murder of archbishop Drake, the next arc has finally begun. Cid and Epsilon have started moving accordingly and what will happen next is quite unknown; there is also a bit of mystery surrounding Alpha’s directives and what exactly they received in the letters.

Next episode, we can expect a bit more action and plot development since this episode was mostly for fan service and setup. Especially Epsilon will likely have a lot of screen time as she tries to match Shadow’s expectations.

Recap of Episode 10

With the end of the terrorist attack arc, the action has slowed down, and the school dorms are now quiet. Cid receives a letter from Alpha to settle old accounts.

We see a peek into Epsilon’s dressing room as she has a flashback about her first meeting with Cid, where she was able to choose between two fates and chase her desires. Fortunately for the viewers, her wishes are entirely perverted as she pads her entire body with slime.

Beta leaves her fan fiction in order to finally step outside and talk to Epsilon. However, it’s not a normal conversation, but instead, an argument over whose body Shadow has been staring at more.

Nu interrupts the argument as there has been a directive from Lady Alpha. Alexia and Iris are shopping for cosmetics when they meet with Luna, the president of the store. They receive special complimentary dishes as a treat.

Alexia beats around the bush as she asks to look at the lingerie collection, and Luna obliges with a smile. Iris is firmly against it and sharply embarrassed at the whole ordeal as she screams at her sister.

However, Iris is no match for Alexia’s skills as she pins her against the wall and tells her that she will no longer be swayed by words she doesn’t need to hear. The value of thongs is to win Cid over, and Iris ends up yielding.

Rose obsesses over Cid as they travel to the Goddess’s Trial by train, and Cid is thoroughly annoyed by her constant attempts to win him over and “convert him to her religion.” They tour around the city as she sees that her favorite author, “Natsume,” is having a signing.

The books he has written seem similar to many existing mangas, with eerie confidence. Cid approaches the author, none other than Beta, who stole all of Cid’s stories and sold them straight up.

The letter is written in the ancient alphabet for encryption purposes. Coming back into the cathedral, Archbishop Drake is revealed to be murdered. Cid and Epsilon take out one of the enemies in the alleyway, but there’s more to be done still.

The Eminence in Shadow, a manga by Daisuke Aizawa, started serialization in 2018. It is scheduled to receive an anime in October 2022. An anime film, titled ‘The Eminence in Shadow: Lost Echoes,’ was announced in December 2023.
