One Piece Actor Emily Rudd Celebrates Filming Wrap on Social Media

Actor Emily Rudd, who plays Nami on One Piece, shared a heartfelt post on social media announcing that she has finished filming for Season 1 of the Netflix series.

The upcoming One Piece series on Netflix is a live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s ongoing manga series of the same name. The Netflix show will follow the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his team of Straw Hat Pirates.

Luffy and his crew set sail across the Grand Line in search of a mythical treasure, One Piece, that will let Luffy become the next Pirate King. Inaki Godoy plays Luffy in the series. The cast also includes Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Jacob Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.

Emily Rudd plays Nami in the series, a mysterious thief who serves as the Straw Hat Pirates’ navigator and dreams of drawing a map of the world. Though Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece was announced back in 2020, it was delayed due to the pandemic. The series finally started production at the beginning of 2022.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Emily Rudd announced that she has finished filming for Season 1 of One Piece. Rudd called the past year of production a “wild and wonderful” time. Check out her post below.

In February of this year, Rudd shared various set photos from her first day of filming. While Rudd has finished shooting her bit, it seems like the series is still in production. After the cast finishes filming, the show might take a long time for post-production as a show of such stature will require major special effects.

Netflix has not announced an official release date for the upcoming series yet. At the earliest, it could be expected in the summer of 2023.
