Minimum system requirements of the Elden Ring appeared on Steam yesterday for a few hours before being taken down. The website’s page listed the minimum requirements of the title only as the section that was supposed to contain the recommended specs simply displayed a “to be determined” text.
Now that even the minimum specs aren’t up on Valve’s popular storefront, visitors heading there will be met by a disappointing “TBD” message. While it’s unclear why the specs were removed so soon after being published, it doesn’t mean you cannot find out whether your PC will be able to run Elden Ring or not.
As soon as the listing was published, we were quick to take a screenshot to reveal what it’ll take to boot up FromSoftware’s upcoming souls game. Listed below are the highly demanding “minimum” requirements of Elden Ring that will put your system through the mill.
- OS: Win10, Win11
- Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 3 3300X
- Memory: 12 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, 3GB or AMD Radeon RX 580, 4GB
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 60 GB available space
Something seems off, right? You’re not alone.
12GB of RAM listed under “minimum” specs is definitely the elephant in the room here. While reports have constantly been knocking on our doors and reminding us that twelve gigs of RAM are the future, it’s shocking to see FromSoftware starting this trail.
Given that previous releases like 2019’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice walked on an undemanding path by needing an Intel Core i3-2100 or AMD FX-6300 for the CPU, 4GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 or AMD Radeon HD 7950 as minimum specs, no one expected Elden Ring to be this grueling.
Since the list was pulled soon after going live, many believe that the list got mixed up, and the recommended specs got posted as minimum. There’ll be no surprises if this case actually turned out to be accurate, and perhaps we’ll see FromSoftware unveil a complete set of rectified system requirements today.
