After the massive Patch 1.04 added a plethora of buffs and new quest events to Elden Ring, FromSoftware is now back with another update, a minor one this time, to deal with more of the game’s notorious glitches.
Called Patch 1.04.1, the small, follow-up hotfix mends a handful of bugs related to Elden Ring’s bosses, the most prominent of which is the broken fight with the infamous Malenia.
Malenia, Blade of Miquella, puts up one of the most brutal fights in the Souls game as her attacks are so swift that very little time is left for dodging. But what makes taking on this foe truly toilsome is her ability to steal life from gamers after hitting them or their shields.
Clearly, getting your gloves off against Malenia is an uphill battle, but a bug made matters even worse than before as it helped the foe heal even when players successfully dodged her attacks.
The problem at hand was triggered when players joined hands to defeat the enemy and ended up making her overpowered. But thanks to patch 1.04.1, the issue no longer persists, and the gruesome boss now functions just as intended.
After last week’s significant update nerfed the duration of the Cerulean Hidden Tear by accident, Patch 1.04.1 has revised the effect’s span back to its original form of 15 seconds.
The update has also eradicated the bug that made some bosses die at unintended times and prevented the boss Elden Beast from working correctly under certain circumstances.
You can find the full patch notes down below:
- Fixed a bug in which the effect duration of the Cerulean Hidden Tear was revised downward
- Fixed a bug with Malenia, Blade of Miquella in which her HP was not healed correctly in the online multiplayer environment
- Fixed a bug that caused some bosses to die at unintended times
- Fixed a bug that prevented the boss “Elden Beast” from working properly under certain circumstances
- Fixed some texts
