Elden Ring boasts the honor of being one of the best Soulsborne games ever made, but a few pesky bugs were obstructing it from reaching the ultimate greatness. One such issue that had been snuffing out enthusiasts’ anticipation when playing online was the “Network status check failed” error message.
Owing to a version mismatch on the Xbox Live network, this thorny error prevented Xbox users from accessing the game’s online features like co-op, messages from other gamers, and so on.
Given that The Lands Between brims with foes that can eat you up for breakfast, relying on features like co-op is vital since it lets you summon the help of others and have a breather for a bit.
Even though offline gameplay works just as fine, online aspects add another dimension to the game by making the experience more worthwhile. Therefore, it’s natural that fans were growing increasingly impatient and demanded a fix that puts them out of their misery.
Thankfully for us, such requests did not fall on deaf ears as Bandai Namco has addressed the situation at hand with Patch 1.02.1.
Released on February 27, Patch 1.02.1 for Elden Ring has resolved the “Network status check failed” error to ensure Xbox users can finally access the online mode completely. Besides this, the patch has brought a handful of fixes for PC and PS5 players of the game as well.
PC players will no longer have to deal with start-up issues related to Easy Anti Cheat as they have been improved. On top of this, mouse operation and loading times when entering a new area have also seen refinement and should not be of nuisance to gamers anymore.
On the PS5, Patch 1.02.1 has ironed out a bug that made Elden Ring crash so you could say hello to a smooth, uninterrupted gaming experience.
Thanks to its scintillating gameplay and sinister plot, Elden Ring has smashed all previous records that FromSoftware achieved with its earlier work. The fact that it hit a new peak of 891,638 concurrent users goes on to show the amount of love devs have poured into this project.
With frequent updates that address bugs as and when they appear, Elden Ring will only get better, and the sky is the limit from there for this ambitious title.
