2. Elden Ring Closed Beta Access Requirements
Unfortunately, the Elden Ring closed beta registration is now over, so if you have not signed up for it yet, you will not be able to access these closed beta sessions.
Those who managed to sign up should check their emails as Bandai Namco has sent out 50,000 codes to the lucky winners.
We have also heard reports of closed beta codes popping up on eBay with exorbitant prices. It seems scalpers were not happy hoarding and reselling hardware components and consoles; they have now moved onto game codes as well.
3. What is in the Elden Ring Closed Beta?
The closed network test will allow those with access to play the opening hours of the game. Judging by this description, players will be able to choose and create their character from five different classes.
Entrants will also have a chance to try out the game’s combat and open world, giving you access to explore an area known as Limgrave. Some bosses have been included for this test, along with unique items and hidden locations. Players will also be able to try out the game’s multiplayer options.
Given that it is an online network test, you will need a constant online connection to play. No indication has been given if you require a PlayStation Plus subscription to play the game, but most likely, it will be necessary.
4. How can I access the Elden Ring Closed Beta?
The closed network test will be available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X consoles. No test has been announced for the PC platform yet.
5. Is Crossplay Included?
Yes, the test does include crossplay, but only between generations, not across platforms. So, PlayStation users will be able to play it on both the PS4 and PS5, but not with those playing on Xbox consoles.
Have you been able to get one of the codes to access the Elden Ring closed beta test? The trailer shown recently was just a sliver of what we can expect in the final game, but this limited-time access should be a lot of content to keep fans excited until the game releases early next year.
7. About Elden Ring
Elden Ring is a major title released by FromSoftware in 2022, the developers of Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, and the Dark Souls franchise. Set in the ‘Lands Between’, players are on a quest to repair the Elden Ring and become the new Elden Lord.
Shadow of the Erdtree is a full-fledged expansion for Elden Ring added in June 2024. It is a whole new map with new Weapons, Sorceries, Ashes, and Craftables. It is a challenging DLC and as players continue to explore the map, they find surprises and easter eggs left by the developers every day.
