FromSoftware is expanding the ELDEN RING universe with a new standalone multiplayer game, where players will team up to take on the darkness and defeat the powerful Nightlord in a co-operative action survival experience.
The trailer for the upcoming multiplayer game made its debut at the 2024 Game Awards. Let’s take a closer look and see what’s in store for us.
1. Elden Ring Nightreign Trailer Reveal
FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment are bringing ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN, a cooperative multiplayer game, to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam in 2025.
In this unforgiving world, players will team up in squads of three or brave it alone to survive a 3-day cycle of intense combat and exploration. With dynamic maps and terrifying bosses to defeat, players must make strategic decisions to emerge victorious.

2. Elden Ring Nightreign Game Premise
Elden Ring Nightreign is a thrilling multiplayer return to Roundtable Hold, set in a parallel universe to the original Elden Ring. Players will embark on a journey as one of eight distinct characters, each boasting unique abilities and formidable Ultimates.
Their quest takes them to the realm of Limveld, where they must make swift decisions in the face of intense combat and exploration. As the Night’s Tide approaches, the map will shrink, adding another layer of urgency to their perilous journey.
As each night draws to a close, players will confront a powerful boss, and if victorious, will awaken to even greater challenges. This cycle will culminate in a final showdown against the chosen Nightlord on the third night.
3. Elden Ring Nightreign Gameplay Features
While brave individuals can attempt to face the darkness alone, strength lies in unity. To overcome these challenges, players must learn to collaborate, combining their unique abilities to end the reign of the Night Lord.
- Discover Sites of Grace to unlock opportunities for each hero to level up and gain vital power. Each adventure is akin to exploring an open-air dungeon, offering a chance to earn lasting stat bonuses.
- By defeating enemies and venturing deeper into the map’s treacherous areas, players will uncover powerful weapons and greater Rune rewards.

4. About Elden Ring
Elden Ring is a major title released by FromSoftware in 2022, the developers of Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, and the Dark Souls franchise. Set in the ‘Lands Between’, players are on a quest to repair the Elden Ring and become the new Elden Lord.
Shadow of the Erdtree is a full-fledged expansion for Elden Ring added in June 2024. It is a whole new map with new Weapons, Sorceries, Ashes, and Craftables. It is a challenging DLC and as players continue to explore the map, they find surprises and easter eggs left by the developers every day.
