The official website for the Edens Zero Franchise released a new promotional video on February 15 that gives a glimpse into the second season of the anime and confirms the April 1 premiere date.
The video reveals the cast members for the Element 4 group and previews the anime’s opening theme song “Never say Never” by Takanori Nishikawa.
The promo video shows several new characters and Element 4 who Shiki will meet in the new season and what kinds of adventures he will be a part of after leaving his homeland.
The newly announced cast members include Taku Yashiro in the role of Laguna, Rumi Okubo as Sylph, Toshiki Masuda as Fie, and Atsushi Imaruoka as Daichi.
Edens Zero is about a young man named Shiki who has lived his entire life among machines. He has grown up in an abandoned amusement park, Granbell Kingdom. One fine day, Rebecca and her cat companion Happy arrive at the park’s front gates.
Unbeknownst to them, they are the first human contact the abandoned park has had in over a century. While Shiki is keen and eager to make new friends, the robots that surround him have other plans for a robo-rebellion.
When the environment around him becomes enveloped in more danger than he can handle, Shiki is left with no choice but to Rebecca and Happy on their spaceship and escape into the boundless cosmos.
The second season will follow Shiki after he has boarded the spaceship and meets new adversaries in space.
Yushi Suzuki directed the anime at J.C.Staff, with Shinji Ishara as the chief director. Mitsutaka Hiroto oversaw and wrote the series scripts and Yurika Sako designed the characters for animation.
