With the pressure high due to the upcoming race, Fallon confronts Daniel about being a drug addict when he disappears with her horse. It turns out that he actually has cancer and what Sam saw were actually immunity booster injections he has been prescribed to take after his treatments. After speaking to Fallon, Daniel decides to come clean about his illness to his son. How will Sam deal with the news of his biological father’s terminal illness, especially after only recently reconnecting with him?

Fallon is excited about the upcoming horse race and decides to go see her horse, Allegra, to make sure everything is perfect. Sam tells Kirby that his biological father, Daniel is a drug addict and that he saw him using drugs at the stables. Kirby tells him that confronting him about it is the way to go but Sam is worried that Fallon might fire him if she finds out and that he’ll end up losing his father again if he has to go back to Venezuela.
Sam decides to wait until the race is over to talk to Daniel. Fallon tells Liam that she found that Patty was actually the one blackmailing her VP into orchestrating the toxic waste spill that almost destroyed Morell. Patty also walks into Fallon’s office and convinces her into making a high-stakes bet before the horse race.
Trouble starts brewing when Fallon’s horse falls sick before the race. The stakes are raised even higher when Patty catches Fallon trying to sabotage her horse the night before the race and Fallon ends up including the publishing house in the bet in exchange for the equestrian trophy she lost to Patty when they were children. Fallon’s horse emerges victorious and she asks Patty to wire the bet money to the charity instead.
