Duel Masters has taken over the news with the reveal of another series and a brand new Kirifuda main character for it.
The story has been focusing on Shobu’s nephew Joe Kirifuda for a long time now. Joe’s era started with the 2017 Duel Masters series and has been going on ever since, with the latest one being Duel Masters King MAX.
Everyone has been curious about who will be the next Kirifuda to take over, and the franchise has finally answered our questions.
TV Tokyo has announced a new Duel Masters series called Duel Masters Win, featuring Win Kirifuda as the protagonist. The series will consist of a manga and a TV anime.
Duel Masters Win manga will debut in Shogakukan’s Coro Coro Comics magazine. It will begin serialization in the magazine’s next issue on August 12, 2022.
The TV anime series will premiere in September, and the franchise will soon reveal more information regarding the release date.
Coming to the new protagonist, it’s not yet confirmed how exactly Win is related to the Kirifuda family. He is Joe’s successor, so I’m guessing he’ll be his son, brother, or nephew, as all other protagonists have the same background.
However, Win can also be a student who has taken up his master’s name to respect and honor him. Although this possibility seems unlikely, it will be a nice twist in the series.
I’m excited to see what Win brings to the table and how he differs from his predecessors.
Also, he belongs to the Darkness civilization, which is really intriguing. I think this is a good time to binge the previous series, so get started now!
