The popularity of anime has been rising by leaps and bounds around the world recently.
Streaming platforms have caught on with the fact that anime is currently on-demand, and some of them have started streaming them.
Netflix, the video streaming giant, has not only added anime to its catalogue but even produced a few titles.
Some of the most popular Netflix original series are Devilman Crybaby, Great Pretender, Japan Sinks (2020), and more. So what’s the next big addition to the platform?
The official Twitter account of Netflix NX released a new trailer for its upcoming Dragon’s Dogma anime. The anime will premiere on Netflix on 17th September 2020.
The trailer starts with the narrator making it clear that no one is ready when a dragon attacks. We, humans, are hopeless in the face of such calamity.
It shows the scene in which Ethan’s heart was stolen in all its gore. A pawn aids Ethan, The Arisen’s journey to defeat the dragons.
Netflix has yet again used amazing CGI to portray the dragons and different creatures.
The Arisen will have to face monsters, which are far more dangerous than what he had anticipated. The more he battles, the harder it is to hold onto his humanity.
Dragon’s Dogma is originally an action RPG by Capcom for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. It has also received manga adaptations.
Dragon’s Dogma is not the first game to receive a Netflix Original anime adaptation. Castlevania was another game that premiered as an anime in 2017 and received positive reviews.
The Dragon’s Dogma anime is being brought to Netflix by studio Sublimation.
It is being directed and produced by Shin’ya Sugai (Walking Meat, Evangelion: 3.0).
Fans of the game have something to look forward to. If it is anything like Castlevania, then the upcoming anime might have some potential.

Dragon’s Dogma is a hack and slash action RPG game launched by Capcom in 2012 for PS3 and XBOX 360. The game later received an enhanced edition called Dark Arisen for other consoles.
The game follows the protagonist who’s heart gets stolen when a dragon attacks his village Cassardis.
After getting his heart stolen, the protagonist stays alive and becomes an existence known as the ” Arisen.”
The Arisen, followed by human-like beings called Pawns, must defeat the dragon and stop the upcoming apocalypse.
