Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai episode 58, titled “The Unlikely Savior,” is the latest installment of the anime.
Episode 58 was a rollercoaster ride that didn’t end well. Just as Dai and the others were about to be annihilated, Hadlar stepped in to save them and help them escape. It turns out he wasn’t dead after all.
Even though they managed to get away, Dai was seen being carried away by the Holy Mother Dragon, which only happens when a dragon knight dies. Hyunckel and Crocodine are probably dead too, but we can’t be too sure.
Will Dai somehow come back to life? Keep watching to find out.
Episode 59 Speculation
Defeated by the Dark King Vearn, our heroes managed to escape thanks to Hadlar. We’re not entirely sure if Hyunckel and Crocodine are alive or not, and Dai’s situation is also complicated.
The Mother Dragon suddenly takes Dai away while Popp and Maam wash up in the Carl Kingdom. As Popp hopes that his friends are safe, he learns that Vearn has begun his attack on the world.
The next episode will show us the aftermath of the battle and confirm Dai, Hyunckel, and Crocodine.

Episode 58 Recap
Episode 58 begins with Dai attacking Vearn with his sword, and the Dark King’s body falls to the ground, burnt like a crisp, but it’s too early to celebrate. Vearn heals himself with the light of a Fullheal.
The Dark King is impressed by Dai and admits that he cannot defeat him barehanded. He wields his most terrible legendary weapon, the Staff of Edacity. He reveals that Lon Beruk made the staff long ago and presented it to him.
Elsewhere, Beruk describes the powers of the staff. It converts magic energy into its equivalent in attack power. When Dark King Vearn wields it with his tremendous magic power, it becomes the greatest destructive weapon.
As Dai and Vearn clash, Vearn’s staff destroys the invincible sword of Dai, which was made from Orichalcum. Dai is shocked, and Crocodine and Hyunckel step in front of him to keep him from Vearn’s attacks.
Just as Vearn’s attack is about to wipe them out, Hadlar steps in to save them. Vearn is surprised to see him and even more shocked that Hadlar saved Dai and the others. After his prey is stolen from him, the King is furious and intends to kill Hadlar.
The Hadlar Royal Guards try to come to his air, but Killvearn stops them. Hadlar repels the King’s attacks and says that he intends to kill him. Vearn is having a hard time since fighting with Dai drained all his magic power.
Just as Hadlar unleashes his ultra-combustion slash, Zaboera holds him back. He mocks him and reminds him not to ignore the debt for becoming a superior being. Block, one of Hadlar’s guards, switches positions with him and sacrifices himself to save Hadlar. The other guards float away with Hadlar.
Just as Hadlar escapes, we see Popp and Maam swimming in the ocean, searching for Dai. Just then, they spot the Holy Mother Dragon, which is said to appear when a Dragon Knight’s life is over. Dai is seen flying away with the dragon as both his and Baran’s swords return to Lon Beruk.
King Vearn rejoices and plans to destroy the surface as soon as possible before Hadlar comes to intervene.
