Episode 2 of Dragon Quest: The Adventures of Dai starts off with Dai meeting with Princess Leona. Princess Leona is surprised to know that such a little boy like Dai is regarded as a hero.
Princess Leona is asked to awaken her powers as a sage with the help of a traditional ritual.
She must do the ritual in the Earth Cave, so Dai agrees to lead the princess to the cave. But, their journey becomes quite troublesome as Leona’s life is put in grave danger.

A small preview of Episode 3 was shown at the end of the second episode.
The preview shows the appearance of a person called Tutor. When a terrible calamity is threatening the Dermline Islands, the Tutor comes to help Dai in his Quest to defeat the evils of the island.
Dai together with Popp the young mage trainee will work on their training to help the island get rid of evil.
How will this Tutor help Dai? We will find out all about it in Episode 3 of Dragon Quest.
3. Episode 2 Recap
In the episode 2 of Dragon Quest titled “Dai and Princess Leona” Princess Leona and her Royal followers all led by Dai reach the cave.
The cave is inhabited by different monsters and although in fear the royals go on inside the cave. Dai helps ward off the monsters and impresses the Royals.
Leona hands Dai a blade from the Papanica royal family and suddenly an evil scorpion shows up and stings Leona. Dai realizes that he must help Leona instead of goofing off. Dai realizes his purpose of being a hero.
Varon, the Royal, has a spell to cure the poison, but he does not use it. He wants to let Leona die and take her throne.
Dai protects Leona from the poison, and Brass shows up with other royals who all want Leona to die.
Dai’s powers are reawakened and he defeats all the royals and saves Leona’s life. After the whole incident, Leona thanks Dai for saving her life in the cave and the rest of the evil royals get arrested.

The story features Dai, a boy living in the Dermline Islands and his quest of becoming a hero and realizing his powers and helping Princess Leona along the way.
The games were adapted into two major television series. Dragon Quest: The Adventures of Dai is the remake of the 1991 series which had 46 episodes in total.
