With Dragon Ball: The Breakers, Bandai Namco is exhibiting its experimental spirit. I don’t think any other anime has received a seven vs one game with an overpowered villain yet, but fans are excited to try it soon.
For those who want to try the game before it hits the market, Bandai Namco has just the solution.
Dragon Ball: The Breakers game will be available for beta testing from December 3-4, 2021. Registrations are open for PC users to sign up for the testing.
The upcoming game will be released in 2022, with no specific date confirmed yet. A new trailer has been revealed and it teases Dragon Ball: The Breakers.
Since it is a unique multiplayer game, fans are bound to have many questions about it.
The trailer very helpfully explains the gameplay of The Breakers.
Every round will need eight players to get started. Out of these, seven will be survivors, while one will be a raider.
The mission? If you are a raider, finish the weakling survivors, and if you are a survivor, well, just survive.
The twist here is that the survivors may be Dragon Ball characters, but they have no superpowers. It is only the Raider who will be the most powerful enemy. Since it is a seven vs one game, it makes sense to have a powerful opponent.
You can use the power-ups and different items scattered around the landscape to attack the Raider.
Dragon Ball: The Breakers will be available via Steam for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC users.
Will this be a new milestone for anime games? Only time will tell if this format is good enough to attract worldwide otakus.
About Dragon Ball
Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama’s brainchild, came into existence in 1984. It has spawned several manga, anime, films, and other media adaptations.
The initial series follows Son Goku and his adventures when he was a child. It is here that we are first introduced to Goku as he meets Bulma, Yamcha, and others.
He trains in martial arts and participates in the World Martial Arts Championship for the first time in this series.
