In the final panel, Vegeta says, “I think I know who he is.” He is either referring to Granolah particularly or the entire Cerealian race that gave the Saiyans a tough fight once upon a time.

Meanwhile, Goku will be taking on Granolah head-on. We will most likely get to see Goku combing Ultra Instinct with the power of Super Saiyan Blue. If things get any worse, he may even resort to his flashy Ultra Instinct transformation.

Despite his greater control over Ultra Instinct, I don’t think Goku can beat Granolah alone. Moreover, Vegeta is next in line to fight Granolah, which makes me believe that the author will give him a fair opportunity to showcase his newfound powers of Destruction.

5. Recap of Chapter 72

I. An Ambush

In Chapter 72, Macki guides Goku and Vegeta to the mountains where Granolah is most likely to be found. They decide not to go any further since it’s too risky, thereby leaving the search job to the Saiyans.

Surprisingly, they do not sense any massive chi signature around the place. This can only mean that the enemy must be suppressing his powers to stay hidden.

As they were surveying the area high up from the sky, they get showered by a bunch of Ki blasts. The attacks keep getting more accurate, and despite all their efforts, Goku and Vegeta fail to locate the person behind them.

You can guess how penetrating the attacks were from the fact that one of them actually hit Goku, and Vegeta was forced to use a senzu bean to revive him before even seeing the enemy.

II. The Fight Begins

Thanks to Goku’s senses, he manages to expose the hidden attacker. It’s none other than Granolah whom they have been searching for.

However, even the Universe’s biggest threat isn’t enough to make Goku and Vegeta team-up. The fight is a way of proving their superiority over each other, so Vegeta sends Goku to fight Granolah first while he investigates the city’s ruins.

III. Combining Ultra Instinct and Super Saiyan God

Goku knew that neither his base form nor any of his golden-haired transformation is good enough to defeat Granolah, so he directly jumps to Super Saiyan God form.

Despite the flashy transformation, Goku lags behind Granolah’s swift movements. So, he resorts to Ultra Instinct, which becomes far more accurate when done in the conjugation with Super Saiyan God form.

The fight goes on for a while, and then Granolah hits Goku’s vital point, knocking him down again. The Cerealian proudly claims that his right eye is the sharpest in the Universe; he can see things like muscle movements, blood flow, and energy flow, so finding Goku’s weak point wasn’t a big deal at all.

IV. No Holding Back

Granolah has been showcasing one after other godly techniques like instant teleportation and hakai ever since he showed up.

He even infers that Goku is holding back his true power all this time, and reminds him that holding back against the Universe’s strongest warrior is a luxury that can cost him his life.

Goku decides to take this fight seriously, so he resorts to his strongest Super Saiyan transformation, Super Saiyan Blue. An epic fight breaks out, and the Saiyan vs. Cerealian fights gets more and more intense.

V. Investigating the Ruins

Meanwhile, an extinct race with a highly revolved right eye rings a bell to the Saiyan Prince. Vegeta studies the city’s ruins covered with Saiyan footprints and remembers some dark secrets that was lost under the bloodstained pages of Saiyan history.

Has he gotten to the bottom of the Saiyan invasion that massacred the entire Cerealian race? Was Freeza the one behind all these? We will find that out in the next chapter.
