Dragon Ball Super is currently in the middle of the Galactic Prisoner Arc. The escaped prisoner and the central antagonist, Planet-eater Moro, has decided to wait for a few months before destroying Earth.
On the other hand, our two favorite saiyajins, Goku, and Vegeta are training tirelessly to defeat Moro and save the universe from his evil-doings. Chapter 56, titled “Warriors of Earth Assemble,” was released today, and it started the battle between earthlings and the prisoner-force of Moro.
1. Chapter 57 Release Date
The next chapter of the series will be released on 20th February. It will show the fight between Moro vs Goku & Vegeta.
2. Chapter 57 Speculation
Chapter 56 started the fight around the near-defeated state of the fighter Seven-Three. Therefore, it is safe to say that the next chapter will commence the final battle’s first-round – Moro vs. Goku & Vegeta.
There are many questions yet to be answered, like, “What is the new technique that Vegeta is trying to learn?” OR “Did Goku finally master the Ultra Instinct?” Well, we will soon find out, however, judging from Toriyama’s style, chances of that happening any soon are slim. Stay tuned for more updates on the next chapter of Dragon Ball Super manga.
3. Chapter 56 “Warriors of Earth Assemble” Plot
Chapter 56, as you know, marked the battle between Earthlings and the forces of Moro. We see all our Z warriors fighting side-by-side aided by the officers from Galaxy Patrol. The chapter continues with Moro’s forces randomly going to different locations on the entire Earth and Yamcha, Chaozu, Tenshin, Roshi & Kuririn going after them.
This chapter showed considerable growth in the side characters such as Yamcha. Next came the most-desired rematch Gohan & Piccolo vs. Seven Three. With his ability to mimic other’s powers, including Moro’s, Seven Three was able to best both Gohan and Piccolo. However, they came prepared this time.
Gohan and Piccolo not only defeated Seven Three against their own techniques but bested him while he used Moro’s power. When Seven Three activated Moro’s power, Gohan and Piccolo switched with Android 17 & 18. Since the androids have no chi, Seven Three couldn’t steal their powers and was defeated.
The chapter then ended with the current whereabouts of Goku & Vegeta. Vegeta is trying to master a technique at Yardrat with elder Pybara so that he could defeat Moro. On the other hand, since Merus’ true identity as an angel was revealed and he left with Whis, leaving Goku alone. The final panel shows Goku being lost and asking unknown aliens to point him in the direction of Planet Earth.
Even though the structure looks the same, this arc is slightly different than a conventional Dragon Ball arc.
First is the current power level of Moro, he is not as strong as a usual DB villain, instead, Moro is a sorcerer with an ability to steal powers from others. It is like Babidi being the main villain instead of Majin Buu.
Second and one of the most fan-favourite difference is the more in-depth growth of Vegeta’s character. The saiyajin has mostly, in one way or another, followed the footsteps of Goku. Vegeta got all the transformations after Goku did. But now, while Goku is mastering Ultra Instinct, Vegeta is in pursuit of his own power, which is long overdue for a character like Vegeta.
