Dr. STONE. which has amassed a great deal of fan following since its release, began airing in Japan in July 2019. Now, as it reaches its fifth anniversary, a significant milestone, the anime’s official website has shared a special visual drawn by Takashi Muratani, the chief animation director of the anime to commemorate this momentous occasion.
A new key visual featuring the main cast of the Dr. Stone TV anime series has been released to commemorate the show’s upcoming fifth anniversary. The new visual features characters such as Senku, Mecha Senku, Ryusui, Chrome, Gen, Kohaku, Suika, Tsukasa, and Ukyo.
The first season of ‘Dr. STONE’ premiered in Japan on July 5, 2019, and has inspired three more so far. Now, as we eagerly await the 5th-anniversary project, a grand event, the Dr. STONE 2024 Ishi no Utage (Stone Festival), is set to take place on August 11 at the prestigious Tokyo International Forum Hall C. This event promises to be a thrilling celebration of the series, filled with exciting announcements and surprises for the fans.
As part of the 5th-anniversary celebrations, a range of exclusive ‘Dr. STONE‘ fifth anime anniversary merchandise will be available for purchase at the Animate Fair, a limited-time event from August 24, 2024, to September 16, 2024.
Shortly after the conclusion of the second cour of Dr. STONE: Stone Wars, a fourth and final season, titled Dr. STONE: Science Future, was announced. For Science Future, the production staff includes Shuuhei Matsushita (Kamisama Kiss) as director, Yuuichiro Kido (Fruits Basket) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, Mayuko Iwasa as character designer, and Hiroyuki Horiuchi as main animator.
Tatsuya Kato, Hiroaki Tsutsumi, and Yuki Kanesaka served as music composers for the series. Shinya Iino directed the first two seasons. TMS Entertainment, a renowned animation studio, is in charge of the overall animation production and has played a crucial role in bringing the world of Dr. STONE to life.
The anime is based on the manga series written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi. The manga ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from March 6, 2017, to March 7, 2022.
