Senku is with Kaseki, mourning that all their efforts and sacrifices were for nothing. Both of them realize that recreating the godly medusa device is a shinning start beyond their reach.

Just when both of them were about to give up, they receive a phone call from their master craftsman, Joel who is back at the Corn city. He reveals that he has successfully created a working medusa.

The credit goes to Francois’s radio transmission before getting caught by Stanley. The message may literally mean, “We have split up into teams,” but it gave him a hint to break the diamonds into two.

Joel soon discovered a cleavage surface in the diamond where the molecular binding is weak, breaking the diamond into two equal pieces quite easily.
