This week’s episode has perfectly set up the mid-season finale of Doom Patrol season 4, establishing a connection between Immortus and our heroes. And now they have to fight while two parties hunt them down, and a curse threatens their existence.
Circumstances are dire, and we love it! But we think Jane, Larry, and Rita are in the most danger, with two robbed of their longevity and one kidnapped by an unknown entity. What fate will the mid-season finale spell for our heroes before the show goes on an extended hiatus?
1. Episode 6 Synopsis/Speculation
Next week, we’ll get the mid-season finale of the latest season of Doom Patrol, and this week’s penultimate episode has left much for the upcoming episode to cover.
Two members of Doom Patrol have already lost their longevity, with a third on the way since we’re pretty sure it was Dr. Janus who kidnapped Larry, who also possesses Niles’ stone. In the following week’s episode, we’ll see the rise of Immortus or other ways the teams can thwart his return.
The upcoming episode should also highlight what fate awaits Jane and Rita after losing their longevity. We think the Arcane agents of Kemplar, led by Willoughby, might have something to do since most of the group is on the route to turning into infants pretty soon. We might see some conflict between Willoughby and Bunbury since the latter wants to rid Doom Patrol of their immortality if it means thwarting Immortus’ rise resulting in yet another apocalypse.
After 104 and Larry connect in their memories, we might see a change in heart on Janus’ ally’s side, and the two could probably work together before Janus can take Larry’s longevity. And who knows, maybe Larry’s visit to Janus could shed some light on Janus and Torminox’s mystery leader.

5. Episode 5 Recap
Willoughby returns to the group after learning the connection Immortus has with the Doom Patrol and why his followers are intent on hunting down the superheroes. The gang’s ally explains how Chief instilled the group with a part of Immortus’ power, and for him to rise, his followers need Doom Patrol’s longevity.
Meanwhile, Larry goes out alone to return with Keeg but finds him inhabiting Mr. 104’s body, and thus 104 and Larry traipse through each other’s memories. Larry discovers why 104 joined Janus’ mission to raise Immortus, but before he can leave with Keeg, he is sucked into a dimensional portal.
While Larry dealt with his nightmare, the team faced their own! Rita wakes to find herself old after her longevity was stolen during her imprisonment. In a desperate attempt to return to her old self, she sets off a de-aging spell that spreads through everyone present. But Willoughby uncovers that the spell is a curse, and they could age back till they blink out of existence.
Willoughby proposes to drive to his mentor, who could reverse the curse, but the group ends up at a pool party. Rita and Laura sort out their problems, and Jane and Vic converse, encouraging Vic to mend his friendship with Derek. Bunbury arrives and turns Willoughby and extracts Jane’s longevity after she turns into a baby.
6. About Doom Patrol
Doom Patrol is an American superhero television series developed by Jeremy Carver. Based on the DC Comics superhero team of the same name, it portrays the coming together of a bunch of “misfit” superheroes under the wing of the Chief played by Timothy Dalton.
The DC superhero roster includes Jane by Diane Guerrero, Rita Farr by April Bowlby, Vic Stone by Joivan Wade, Larry Trainor by Matt Bomer and Cliff Steele by Brendan Fraser, who form the Doom Patrol.
Bowlby, Bomer, and Fraser return to their roles from the series Titans, the two shows take place in separate continuities.
