Who dies in The Bad Batch Season 2? (Frequently Updated)

A Star Wars series without deaths is a rarity. Star Wars: The Bad Batch is back with its second season, and it’s time we start talking about the characters we might have to say goodbye to this season!

As of writing this article, there’s been no major death in the series so far. Season 1 did include a few deaths, but they weren’t very important. Jedi Master Depa Billaba and Taun We say goodbye in Season 1 and remain the only significant deaths in the series so far.

Two characters who nearly escape death in Season 1 include Lama Su and Orn Free Ta. Both come close to death but are not killed eventually.

None of the Bad Batch members die in the first season. If you ask me, it is unlikely that they’ll die in the second season, either. However, one major death we can expect to see in The Bad Batch Season 2 is that of Gungi.

The trailer for Season 2 introduced us to Gungi, a Wookiee Jedi youngling who made his first appearance in The Clone Wars. He’ll be fighting Omega in Season 2. According to major fan theories, Gungi will be the first major death in The Bad Batch.

Who dies in The Bad Batch season 2? (Frequently Updated)
Gungi

The original trilogy and its sequels make it evident that too many Jedi surviving Order 66 is not probable, so it is fair to assume that Gungi will be the show’s first major death. This will also make sense, considering that The Bad Batch highlights how much suffering the Empire brought upon the galaxy.

Moreover, in Return of the Jedi, Yoda tells Luke that he will be the last of the Jedi. The universe already goes against this, considering that many of the Jedi remain alive after the Battle of Endor. If Gungi is to remain alive in The Bad Batch, this will lead to further loopholes in the franchise.

Wookiees stay alive for thousands of years, so if Gungi survives The Bad Batch, the franchise will also have to explain where he was during the events of the sequel trilogy. Too much work, if you ask me. So, Gungi’s death will also fit into the franchise’s timeline logically.

Apart from Gungi, it is too early to say who else we might have to say goodbye to in Season 2. One of the Bad Batch members could die, but we’re not sure if it will happen so soon or in subsequent seasons.
