The shocking cliffhanger ending of the latest episode of Loki leaves viewers wondering about the fate of the characters. With the multiverse in chaos and the timeline unstable, the chances of Loki, Sylvie, Mobius, and the others remain uncertain. As the season heads toward its finale, fans are eager to see how the conflict will be resolved and which characters will make it out alive.
It’s unclear what exactly happened to Loki, Mobius, Sylvie, OB, Hunter-B15, Casey, and the others at the TVA, but OB’s ominous warning that they would all die came to pass. That said, there are still two episodes left of Loki season 2, so while some characters might be dead for good, many will likely return.
1. Renslayer kills General Dox and her Team – and likely won’t return
Renslayer returns midway to the TVA and offers General Dox a deal. If they help her take control of the TVA, she’ll give any of them who want it a life on the timeline.
X-5, aka Brad, takes Renslayer’s deal while Dox and the rest don’t. Renslayer kills them with the machine Loki used to torture Brad in episode 2.
The team will probably not return since their deaths happened before the Temporal Loom explosion. Moreover, Dox was just a minor character introduced in Loki Season 2. However, owing to the existence of the multiverse, it’s always a possibility their variants could.
2. Victor Timely dies in The Temporal Loom – and he might not return
Towards the end of the episode, Victory Timely volunteers to fix the Temporal Loo. However, on entering the room where the loom is housed, he is immediately killed by the massive amount of temporal radiation emitted by the time stream.
He’s shown disintegrating, potentially living out the fate OB warned about in Loki season 2, episode 1 of having his skin peeled off.
Given his demise happening ahead of the catastrophic event that appears to have potentially sealed the destiny for the rest of the cast, Victor may find himself excluded from any possible tactics used to resurrect Loki, along with other characters in question.
Nevertheless, the circumstances surrounding Victor’s apparent end remain somewhat nebulous. We’re unsure about his overall prognosis. Complicating things further, it remains to be seen whether there’s any chance for him to be saved or recovered.
Recalling the preview from one of the opening trailers for “Loki” season 2, where we see Loki unpleasantly transforming into a spaghetti look-alike in much the same way as Victor, it raises questions. This transformation could mean it’s not the pretty unalterable fate it indeed appeared to be initially.
However, that scene from the trailers hasn’t been shown in season 2 yet, so it could be a Loki variant dying in another timeline, indicating Victor is, in fact, dead. Or it could be teasing that Loki dies before the end of season 2. That said, another Kang variant may do even if Victor Timely doesn’t return in Loki season 2.
3. Loki Season 2, Episode 4’s ending kills everyone
A catastrophic event has unfolded due to the explosion of the Temporal Loom. According to OB’s dire predictions, along with everyone within the play of the TVA, all those present in the room have perished. However, it’s plausible that several significant numbers, if not the entirety, will return on screen.
Unseen snippets showcased in upcoming trailers of Loki season 2 serve as a testament and near-incorrigible proof of the return of several characters. The characters that can be confidently counted among these are Loki, Hunter B-15, and Casey. Their reappearance in forthcoming plotlines is almost sealed as certified truths.
That possibility of Mobius, accompanied by Sylvie, or potentially even OB reclaiming their places in the storyline can also certainly not be eliminated from consideration.
Although the dynamics of TV series and trailer manipulations ticking viewers off their path aren’t unheard of, it is beyond acceptance that Loki would shake off its entire character armory.
4. How Loki Season 2’s cast may return?
One of the big questions we all had about Loki was answered. The characters would all be back somehow, but how will this happen?
We could consider a theory: the explosion sends everyone to different points in time. This also explains why B-15 is seen as a doctor in the trailer. The cast must deal with the reality that they’re all variants and see what their lives could’ve been. It could be that they’re not all together when this happens, but that’s a good thing since it’s unknown who survived and how they’ll return.
Next week, we’ll find out how Marvel plans to bring them back, but until then, it’s just speculation.
