Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2) is a lengthy game with several challenging missions and side quests, and even a tiny error can lead to immediate death in the game. In fact, some of these missions are so tough they can make you rage-quit again and again until you eventually give up on the game itself.  

At such a point, it’s better to lower the game’s difficulty from the settings. Unfortunately, this cannot be done in RDR2.

The single-player campaign is relatively straightforward and does not require exceptional gaming skills to get through. However, if you are playing online, you may have a difficult time depending on the skill level of the players online against you. 

Additionally, if you are using a controller to play the game, the auto-aim feature will even aim at the enemies for you, and all you have to do is pull the trigger.  

Still, if you find the game to be difficult, there are certain methods to lower the game’s difficulty. 

How to make Red Dead Redemption 2 easier? 

Red Dead Redemption 2 can be made easier by using various cheat codes available in the game or trainer mods accessible from different websites. 

I. Cheat Codes in Red Dead Redemption 2 

Cheat codes can be found in a back catalog of newspapers that can be purchased during the single-player campaign of Red Dead Redemption 2. 

As Rockstar studios do not offer difficulty settings in RDR2, it provides several unique cheats that can help you overcome a challenging part of the game. These cheats can spawn weapons for you, provide infinite ammo, and even make you invincible! 

To enter cheat codes in Red Dead Redemption 2: 

1. Go to the game menu. 
2. Select “Settings.” 
3. Go to Cheats (Press Triangle on PlayStation or Y on Xbox). 
4. Enter the Cheat Code to activate a specific cheat. 

Note: Using cheats will disable achievements and trophies for the player. Save the game before activating a cheat, so you can re-load the game and earn trophies later.

Red Dead Redemption 2 trainers is a software that allows players to modify the game’s parameters to cheat or create exciting scenarios. 

Rampage trainer is one of the best options available out there for RDR2’s story mode. So, let’s take a look at how it works. 

1. Manual download the Rampage Trainer from NexusMods.
2. Download the additional ‘Alexander Blade’s scriptingHookRDR2’ plugin from the same window when it pops up. 

Note: To load Rampage, you either need dinput8.dll or version.dll. Don’t use both at the same time. 

3. Extract the contents of both the .zip file into your game directory (the folder where RDR2.exe is located). 
4. Run Red Dead Redemption 2. Make sure it is updated. 

That’s it! You can now access the Rampage menu in the game and use it to modify the settings or environment of the game to get infinite health, infinite ammo, and many other features. 

Warning: Rockstar Games are against trainer mods, players who use them online risk suspensions from the multiplayer mode. 

How do you change the difficulty in Red Dead online? 

Red Dead Online does not have difficulty settings like RDR2, but it allows players to change the difficulty of a few missions, featured in the Moonshiners DLC. 

Standard, Hard, and Ruthless are the three available levels of difficulty in these missions. The health, damage, and accuracy of the opponent AI are raised on tougher difficulties (on Ruthless difficulty, foes don’t even show up on the minimap), but the benefits for completing each mission (cash, gold, and XP) are also greater.
