Kekkei Genkai are unique abilities that only a select few possess, making their wielders some of the most powerful characters in the Naruto series. Have you ever wondered if our favorite ramen-loving ninja has one of these special powers himself?
Well, it’s not a simple yes or no answer. You see, Kekkei Genkai, like the Sharingan, Byakugan, and Wood Release, are typically inherited through bloodlines.
Naruto didn’t inherit any Kekkei Genkai powers when he was born; he got them later on during Naruto Shippuden’s Fourth Great Ninja War arc. When Naruto received the chakra of all nine Tailed Beasts, he gained access to multiple Kekkei Genkai abilities.
I know you’re itching to learn more about Naruto’s special powers, so let’s dive into the nitty-gritty details of his Kekkei Genkai and see what they’re all about.
How Many Kekkei Genkai Does Naruto Have?
In the Naruto universe, there are five main chakra types: wind, fire, water, earth, and lightning. Every ninja’s got at least one that they’re naturally good at. But some particular chakra types are only passed down through families – those are the Kekkei Genkai.
Now, Naruto’s the main character, so you know he would get his hands on those sweet powers one way or another.
Naruto has three Kekkei Genkai powers under his belt: Magnet Release, Lava Release, and Boil Release. He got these abilities by borrowing the tailed beasts’ power during the Fourth Great Ninja War.
Explaining All of Naruto’s Kekkei Genkai
I. Lava Release
When a shinobi mixes fire and earth releases, they can use lava release. Unlike other Kekkei Genkai like Ice release or Byakugan, lava release’s appearance varies depending on the user. The first time fans saw Naruto use a Kekkei Genkai was Lava Release, which he got from the Four Tails.
Naruto combined Lava Release with Rasenshuriken to make it even stronger than before. The new Rasenshuriken was so powerful that it sliced through Madara and the entire God Tree!
To create this Rasenshuriken, Naruto uses a lot of chakra and adds the lava release simultaneously; it creates a lava center with wind blades that blow out steam. This allows him to use two different chakra natures simultaneously, making his attack unstoppable.
II. Magnet Release
The Kazekage clan of the Hidden Sand Village are pros in Magnet Release. It’s a Kekkei Genkai that merges wind and earth chakra natures to make a brand-new one. With this power, they can create a magnetic force field and attach it to objects.
Naruto has Magnet Release thanks to the chakra of the One-Tailed Beast, Shukaku. He uses it mainly as a sealing jutsu that traps the enemy upon impact. But when he combines it with other techniques, like Sage Mode, it’s even more potent.
Naruto infused Magnet Release into his Rasengan with Shukaku’s cursed
seal, which is known to be incredibly powerful. Magnet Release has become one of Naruto’s best moves for a good reason!
III. Boil Release
Naruto got his third Kekkei Genkai from the chakra of Kokuo, the Five Tails, and used it to beat Kaguya Otsutsuki during the Fourth Great Ninja War.
Naruto’s chakra levels get amplified using the Boil Release technique, significantly raising his power and speed. He can use this technique multiple times without any negative consequences, as seen in his fight against Kaguya.
But what’s really cool is that Naruto’s Boil Release isn’t just used for
physical enhancements. He can combine it with other techniques, showing off his mad chakra control skills.
Naruto can use the Rasenshuriken and stack sage chakra and Boil Release, creating a deadly attack. It’ll cause intense pain to anyone unlucky enough to get hit.
Can Naruto Use Kekkei Genkai After Losing Kurama?
We haven’t seen Naruto use his Kekkei Genkai since Kurama passed away, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he can’t use them anymore.
As long as Naruto can tap into the chakra of the Tailed Beasts, he should still be able to access the power of all his three Kekkei Genkai. He lost the power of Kurama, but he may still have contact with the other Tailed Beasts.
However, there’s a slight possibility that losing Kurama might have cut off Naruto’s communication with the other Tailed Beasts. If that’s the case, he might have lost his Kekkei Genkai altogether.
