Now that MCU’s latest teen superhero is here, it’s time we find out more about her. As MCU fans, we’re probably all used to post-credit scenes by now. Be it a series such as Loki or films such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it’s not over when you think it is!
Ms. Marvel is no exception. Episode 1 of Ms. Marvel has an interesting post-credits scene, which gave me a sense of deja-vu, to be honest. After all, a teenager with superpowers isn’t a concept too new to us, especially if you’ve watched No Way Home just a while ago.
Ms. Marvel’s premiere episode has an interesting post-credit scene. In the post-credits scene of Episode 1, Agent Cleary and Agent Deever are seen watching footage of Kamala Khan. They then decide to arrest her to further investigate her powers.
What happens in Ms. Marvel’s Episode 1 post-credits scene?
In the post-credits scene of Ms. Marvel Episode 1, Kamala is being watched by Agent P. Cleary and Agent Sadie Deever of the Department of Damage Control. They are seen watching her footage at Avenger Con.
Agent Cleary is not new to the MCU. You may remember him from No Way Home. He was investigating Peter Parker, Aunt May, MJ, and Ned after Mysterio revealed to the world that Peter Parker is Spider-Man.
This post-credits scene might mean fresh trouble for Kamala. As we know, with great power comes great responsibility. It might be a dream come true for Kamala to get powers like Captain Marvel, but she also has to learn to deal with the problems that come with it.
Agent Cleary seems like he is here to stay, and we know how his ways are. He knows exactly how to extract the information that he needs.
The post-credits scene also introduces a brand-new character into the series, Agent Sadie Deever, who seems to be even more dangerous than Cleary.
Cleary and Deever plan to arrest Kamala in order to investigate her powers. Considering how hostile DODC is as an organization towards superheroes, upcoming episodes will spell trouble for Kamala for sure.
What is the Department of Damage Control?
The Department of Damage Control (DODC) was created as a joint venture between Tony Stark and Wilson Fisk of the US Government to take care of the damage caused by the Battle of New York shown in The Avengers.
DODC first appeared on screen in Spider-Man: Homecoming. In the opening scene of the film, Adrian Toomes was seen with his crew on a salvage job in the aftermath of the Battle of New York.
He was working for the agency run by Tony Stark himself, who was in fact responsible for the destruction—to terminate Toomes’ contract and take away his job. This is what led to Toomes becoming the Vulture.
In the latest Spider-Man film, No Way Home, Agent Cleary from DODC was seen investigating Parker and those close to him after his identity was revealed to the world.
Though he did not have a huge role, it was clear that the DODC will have things to do in the future that aren’t easy to deal with at all. Now, it seems like it’s Kamala’s turn to face Cleary. Let’s see what the upcoming episodes have in store for her.
