Does Kingpin Die in Hawkeye Episode 6? Does Daredevil Appear?

The Hawkeye series finale was packed with loads of action and undertones of emotional drama. The show depicted Clint Barton in all his glory and set up new arcs for characters such as Kate Bishop, Maya Lopez, and even Yelena. One such character whom we were excited to see and know more about was Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin.

We see Kingpin right from scene one, where he has an altercation with Eleanor Bishop that sets him up as the big baddie he has always been. We also see Maya Lopez talk with him, and he knows that she’s “turned on them.” After all, Clint told her someone had leaked information about the TSM’s meeting that led to her father’s death.

In the climax, after Kingpin manages to escape after being injured by an explosive arrow, he is staggering on the streets when he comes face to face with Maya Lopez with a gun pointing at him point-blank. So does Kingpin die?

Kingpin is likely alive since we hear a gunshot as the camera pans above. This means we haven’t really seen him die for good. Furthermore, Kingpin will have an important role in the upcoming Echo spin-off series, which implies that Maya Lopez isn’t dead either.

The heat is turned on in the show right from the get-go. We Wilson Fisk in his most intimidating form, essential, and we know that everything’s about to go down in the climax between all these characters that have been built so far in the last five episodes.

While Yelena and Hawkeye’s action sequences are a conversation for another day and another article, the highlight was the showdown between Kate Bishop and Kingpin.

Wilson tries to harm Eleanor Bishop (Kate’s mother), and that’s when Kate gets in between to stop the mighty Kingpin. Now, I have been on Reddit threads since the episode released, and the popular sentiment is how Kate Bishop stood no chance, and her defeating Kingpin was not so Marvelous.

While that makes sense, I have a slightly different take on it. Kate’s arrows don’t seem to work on Kingpin. She shoots one right in his chest, and he just clips it off with his staff. Every time she engages in combat with him or even comes close to touching him, he just flings her away, and that is pretty realistic. He literally tosses her left and right without breaking a sweat.

So, in the end, it was sheer luck and smart thinking on Kate’s part to set off the explosive arrow with a trick that Clint taught her. It just shows that despite superpowers, Kate, like Clint, can use her mind to beat some of the mightiest villains, even if it is for the time being.

The explosion doesn’t kill Wilson Fisk, and he staggers away from the scene into an alley where he comes face-to-face with Echo, AKA Maya Lopez. Echo’s tale hasn’t been explored much, and the MCU has clearly reserved it for the spin-off series.

However, in the finale, she is enraged about her father’s death, and the news that someone from the inside leaked information to Ronin just adds fuel to it. To top it all, she had to see Kazi, her best friend/ally, die in her arms, although it is not revealed if he was the one to leak the information.

All this comes down to her taking it out on Kingpin as she shoots him point-blank. This part is an assumption because we hear a gunshot as the camera pans above to show a building, but we do not see her shoot Kingpin.

It is my theory that Echo and Kingpin are both alive, considering Echo has her own mini-series releasing soon, and Kingpin will have to play a significant part in it. Furthermore, there’s already speculation that numerous characters from the Daredevil show will appear in Echo. This is why both of them are still alive.

The scene is considered a tribute to the comics, with the same frame of Echo shooting Kingpin. It doesn’t kill Wilson Fisk but leaves him with one blind eye. Will we see this in the MCU, or will the story take a different route? I guess we’ll just have to wait and find out.

There were speculations that in this scene, Daredevil was somehow involved too. So was Daredevil in the climax of Hawkeye episode 6?

Does Daredevil Appear In Hawkeye Season Finale?

Daredevil does not appear in the Hawkeye season finale. There is speculation that he and a few other original characters from Netflix’s Daredevil will appear in the Echo mini-series alongside Kingpin.

Fans of the show are also speculating that the gunshot could’ve been diverted by Daredevil just before Echo could kill Wilson Fisk. After all, Daredevil is all about following the justice system.

While this theory hasn’t been confirmed, and there were no hints dropped either, I can’t rule it out entirely because you never know with the MCU.

I guess they will address this in the Echo spin-off series, and we’ll just have to wait. While there is no date on the Echo premiere, the MCU has Disney+ shows scheduled till 2023, so I guess it is still pretty far away.
