Does Hinata Become a Professional Player in Haikyu!!?

Hinata Shoyo’s dream was to become the next Little Giant and be the team’s ace. Regrettably, he couldn’t achieve the latter.

However, we have come a long way to finally see him becoming of the best volleyball players in the Haikyu universe.

For a boy who didn’t know the basics of volleyball, who only knew to move on instincts and entirely depend on his setter to spike the ball with his eyes closed, Hinata Shoyo made us proud of his achievements.

His hard work has paid off, and Hinata has reached the top of the hierarchy. After the time skip, Hinata has changed 180; of course, this change wasn’t without giving out his blood, sweat, and tears (in Hinata’s case, it was also homesickness)

After graduating from high school, Hinata trains for a couple of years in beach volleyball and Brazil. Later, he returns to Japan and joins a national-level team. Towards the end of the manga, Hinata plays in the Tokyo Olympics as well.

Does Hinata Become the Next Little Giant?

I feel like a proud mother whenever I think how exceptionally Hinata has grown. From a baby chick to a pro league player, his journey was quite heartwarming.

Since his middle school years, Hinata has had one goal— to be the next little giant. He has tirelessly worked hard for it. Although Hinata’s jumps were quite high, he lacked the technique and skills for it.

Moreover, it took Hinata some time to realize that he doesn’t need to be the little giant. Instead, he can be something else, something that his team direly needs— The Ultimate Decoy.

However, Hinata wasn’t a big fan of this idea earlier, but soon he came to terms with it. Hinata works as the perfect decoy as he is known for his unpredictability and after the time skip his decoying skills have outshined other people.

He can now decoy for himself; Hinata tricks his opponents into thinking he is going for defense, but he goes on full offense mode in reality.

What Is Hinata Doing a Post-Time Skip?

As mentioned earlier, Hinata has gained something similar to a Pokemon evolution. Of course, no one was expecting a time skip in the manga, but still, here we are.

Karasuno High sadly couldn’t reach the nationals as other teams beat them to it.

Somewhere around the second year in high school, Hinata started playing beach volleyball, whose fundamentals were new to Hinata.

During the third year, Hinata grew out of the dependence he had on Kageyama. He could receive powerful spikes, unlike the previous years.

Hinata forced his opponents to spike the ball where he wanted, hence becoming the Ultimate decoy. After graduation, Hinata lived in Brazil for a while and trained.

As a result, Hinata was called Ninja Shoyo in Brazil; no kidding, I didn’t expect that.

Soon he returned and was back to playing volleyball; Hinata tried for every other team he could find and was drawn to the MSBY Black Jackals. So we will see many familiar faces in the MSBY Black Jackals team.

The upcoming story arc is going to be the best Hinata and Kageyama will finally have a face-off, and I’m super excited for it.

Does Kageyama Join the Professional League?

Hinata is not the only one recognized for his talents; Kageyama has grown tremendously from his school years. He joined a professional team in Japan’s Division Volleyball and played in the Olympics.

It completely baffled me that he progressed to the point of reaching the Olympics just in a few years. I couldn’t be more proud than this. Currently, Kageyama plays as a setter for Schweiden Adlers.

After Hinata’s return, Adlers and Black Jackals have a face-off. Kageyama’s time at Karasuno has considerably affected his skills; now, he has learned a variety of different sets. Later he is seen to play for the Tokyo Olympics along with Hinata.

Which Other Characters Are Playing in the Pro League?

Hinata and Kageyama are not the only ones playing pro. So many of our other boys are finally playing and getting the hype that they actually deserve.

Unfortunately, we don’t know many details as to how and on what criteria they joined the teams, but they are all playing for the nationals.

Along with Kageyama Wakatoshi Ushijima, Korai Hoshiumi are also a part of the Schweiden Adlers team.

And surprisingly, Hinata gets a chance to play with Kotaro Bokuto, Kiyoomi Sakusa, Atsumu Miya in the  MSBY Black Jackals. Eventually, just like how Atsumu wished he can set for Hinata now.

Morisuke Yaku from Nekoma High is playing for the Russian Volleyball Super League in 2021. Aran Ojiro, Gao Hakuba are playing for Tachibana Red Falcons.

And the best entry that caught all the manga readers off guard was Oikawa Toru. He didn’t leave volleyball after all. Currently, he is a setter for the Argentinian Volleyball team called Atletico San Juan.
