Ubisoft’s newest installment of the destructive Far Cry franchise possesses high-intensity action, explosive weaponry, and, quite unsurprisingly, faithful animal compadres.
Below the persistent gunfire lies the story about the struggles of a country trying to break free from the deadly shackles of a malicious tyrant. Once you assist in the liberation of Yara and snatch the reins of power from Anton Castillo, you technically beat the main story of Far Cry 6.
After completing Far Cry 6, you may wonder whether there’s anything else you can do in the game. Since you can play the game in three different modes, namely the Story Mode, Action Mode, and Guerrilla Mode, there’s replayability in the game. But, it’s limited because players lose all their progress and collected items while switching difficulty.
This is where the New Game Plus mode comes into play, but unfortunately, Far Cry 6 didn’t have the specific mode at launch.
However, Title Update 6, which came out on 29th November 2022, introduced the highly-requested New Game Plus mode to Far Cry 6. Also, you can continue finishing side missions and searching collectibles.
To achieve the secret ending, you must complete the following missions after the initial escape and arrival on the island.
- Juan of a Kind
- Du or Die
- Fire and Fury
- Fuel the Revolution
- Libertad Rising
Once you launch an attack on the two ships in the last mission of the above list, Clara will guide you to reconvene with Juan, join the revolution, and offer you a boat. All you need to do is jump onto the boat and drive off. Then, keep driving until Dani exclaims, “Not my fight,” and the screen turns dark.
Next, the story cuts to “three months later,” and Dani is shown sitting on a beach, listening to the radio about how President Castillo killed Clara to put an end to the revolution. The credits will roll, and you will reach the post-game of Far Cry 6. But this secret ending is simply a shortcut.
You can also reach the post-game in Far Cry 6 by finishing the whole campaign, from La Noche De La Muerte to The Battle of Esperanza. Once you hit and enter the executive elevator, a cutscene will begin. Once it ends, the credits will roll, and you will enter the post-game in Far Cry 6.
2. Can you still play Far Cry 6 after you complete the game?
Yes, players can continue to play Far Cry 6 after completing the main missions in the game. While you can finish Far Cry 6’s main story in approximately 15 hours, its side content can amount to 60 hours. Moreover, apart from the side missions, you can discover hidden creatures, explore the map, and begin the New Game Plus.

But, if you wish to start a new game while in the middle of another run of Far Cry 6, ensure to save your progress in one of the above-mentioned slots by using the auto-save feature. Unfortunately, Far Cry 6 doesn’t have a manual-save feature.
