No one has died yet in Yuri On Ice; however, some fans are not optimistic about the future.
Yuri On Ice is packed with romance, sports, and comedy; however, many wonder if something darker is hidden beneath its beauty.
With a new teaser trailer released for Yuri!! On Ice, the movie: Ice Adolescence, the fandom has revived.
From stunning artworks to fanfics to theories of what the movie might contain, there’s a lot of Yuri on Ice content floating around the web these days.
One of the most famous “theories” that has gained traction is the supposed death of Victor Nikiforov.
The theory states that Victor is dying of an illness, which is why he decided to become Yuri’s coach. One of the grounds the theory stands on is Viktor’s thinning hair, which honestly does not hold water at all.
Victor’s 27, so it’s actually possible that his hair is naturally thinning. In fact, it seems like a conscious choice by the animators to make the man seem more human.
Jumping to the conclusion that he is dying based on this is illogical, and most probably, false.
Considering the second point stating the reason for Victor coaching Yuri, it is probably because he felt inspired by seeing him skating during one of the lows of his life.
Victor had won the world championship five times and was unable to surprise the audience anymore, thus losing his spark.
When he first saw Yuri’s video imitating his style, he felt inspired and decided a new outlook might be better, thus leading to him becoming a coach.
Furthermore, the creator of Yuri On Ice herself admitted that no one was going to die in the show and that the “love wins” theme of the show will remain constant.
So basically, Victor is not going to die, and neither is Yuri. Let’s listen to History Maker and await 2021 for Yuri On Ice’s comeback!
About Yuri!! On Ice
Reeling from his crushing defeat at the Grand Prix Finale, Yuuri Katsuki, once Japan’s most promising figure skater, returns to his family home to assess his options for the future.
At age 23, Yuuri’s window for success in skating is closing rapidly, and his love of pork cutlets and aptitude for gaining weight are not helping either.
However, Yuri finds himself in the spotlight when a video of him performing a routine previously executed by the five-time world champion, Victor Nikiforov, suddenly goes viral.
In fact, Victor himself abruptly appears at Yuuri’s house and offers to be his mentor. As one of his biggest fans, Yuuri eagerly accepts, kicking off his journey to make it back onto the world stage.
But the competition is fierce, as the rising star from Russia, Yuri Plisetsky, is relentlessly determined to defeat Yuuri and win back Victor’s tutelage.
