Unfortunately, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla does not have the New Game+ mode. Furthermore, in its blog post detailing the title update 1.6.2, Ubisoft confirmed that the game will not receive the requested mode with the final content update. This news may come as heartbreak for players as it’s the last post-launch update for the game.

1. Does AC Valhalla have post-game content?
Yes, AC Valhalla does have post-game content in the form of optional missions, side quests, and numerous DLCs. The post-game in AC Valhalla doesn’t begin until you complete the storylines of Sigurd and Eivor in Hordafylke and the modern storyline of Layla. Then, you must complete the last storyline in England, the Hamtunscire region saga.
Chronologically, the Hamtunscire region unlocks at last on the Alliance map. Upon finishing a few quests in this region, the game will inform you about the “pacification” of England, implying your entry into AC Valhalla’s post-game.
AC Valhalla’s main story has a substantial amount of content, but the entirety of the game’s content isn’t wrapped into the main plot. Quite interestingly, Ubisoft has made much of the game’s content optional. So, once you’re done with Eivor’s journey, there are several other journeys you can try out.

3. What to do in AC Valhalla after you complete it?

- Complete the main storyline by pledging to all territories of England
- Complete the mythical story arcs of Asgard and Jotunheim
- Upgrade your settlement to level 5 and construct the Jomsviking barracks
- Kill all targets of the Order of the Ancients and unveil its leader
4. What happens when you start a new game in AC Valhalla?
The unlocked perks and chapters will be overwritten when you start a new game in AC Valhalla by navigating to the “New” option in the main menu.
Nevertheless, starting a new game doesn’t remove the collectibles and the option settings. If players wish to reset these items, they must delete the player profile outside the game.
Furthermore, if you don’t want to lose progress or unlocked perks and experience the thrill of a new game simultaneously, go to the chapters’ menu and select chapter one. Subsequently, proceed to choose the alternate character at the last part of the map.
Alternatively, you can save your progress as one save file and start a new game on a different save file, saving you from the hassle of deleting your player profile and losing progress.
5. Why did Ubisoft never release the New Game+ mode for AC Valhalla?
Although Ubisoft was working on rolling out the New Game+ mode for AC Valhalla, they decided against it due to the vastness of the entire game. Implementing the NG+ mode means working on every aspect of the game, and since AC Valhalla consists of a diverse range of content, it became virtually impossible for the developers to go ahead with it.
Title update 1.6.2 was released on 6th December 2022, and its blog post on Ubisoft’s official page includes the following explanation for the absence of the New Game+ mode in AC Valhalla.
